G'day Dattodude ,i just replaced the cam today with a standard CA18DET cam .Afetr putting all back together i made sure that timing cover was on straight and the CAS now slides in with ease and fully butts up with timing cover seems to have fixed the problem .I was thinking that the CAS was never in correct in the first place as i thing the locating half moon was twisted before it snapped .I will keep this thread open as i am still concerned of intermitent dramas .Thanks every one cheers keep the ideas coming .

I am having a problem with the car starting and running fine and when it hits a certain temp it then after turning car off and then trying to restart its like the motor is locking up but as soon as i unplug the crank angle sensor and turn it over it is good so i know its ignition. Then you plug it back in the CAS and it will then start then u turn it off and it will cease up again .I have changed the CAS and it still gives the same problem .The car was running fine until i adjusted the timing by turning the crank angle sensor (CAS) .It is back to its original position and still is playing up .Any ideas would be appreciated.

i have had bad experience with rb and vg turbos as they are all ceramic exhaust impellers and u cant boost them more than 12 pounds high chance of disintergrating the ceramic wheel cheap but u need boost to make the aseries go hard minumum 10 to 15 pounds

Yeah i have a box on top of the carby stuff boxing the carby as you said a pain in the ass also looks #### i had a mate that pumped 15 pounds into a weber 32/36 no problems but what u need to do is the on the top of the carby above the float chamber you should notice a breather if u run a malpassi rising reg put the hose that goes normally to vacuum to that vent as it only works of boost and thats all u really have to do and i agree with the other guy dont touch exa turbos there good for nothing use like a VL commodore turbo t3 dont listen to people saying they are to big bullshit mine and my mates went hard as and started boosting at bout 2 1/2 grand RPM cheers
ohh and thanks for the tip to use those exa turbos as a sinker never thought ofd that cheers
