Hey guys,

I've got a pair of SUs with linkages & stuff lined up, but they're on an L series manifold.

I have an A14 with an oval port head so I assume I need an A12GX (or copy) intake manifold.

I've searched here & eBay - perhaps I'm useless cause I can't find any for sale?

Anyway, would anyone have one they are willing to part with?

Failing that, do redline or anyone else make them? I only see Weber manifolds on Redline's website.

Thanks in advance for any help tracking this down. I'm located in Townsville Nth QLD BTW.

I can be emailed on --> ahinds AT nitrousnet.com.au

Cheers
Ash

I'll keep those in mind, however a later model injected Mitsu donk might be falling into my lap stupid cheap (for those familiar with Mitsu naming, single cam 16V 4G93).

It would be approx 100kw & return 8.0l/100km (the wife's lancer does) which would give me similar perfomance to a NA CA18, and being 1.8l I could force feed it later or replace it with the GSR lancer turbo version.

are they really that much heavier than say an L20B with 5spd though?

the other idea would be force feeding an A14 but that's likely to only come close to the stock output of an astron & will only have the 4spd still.

what do the Z & KA series donks come out in stock? Early Navaras?

I sense a Broadhurst influence here Ash....

Or a Sigma Pete influence......

Broadhurst influence, though nothing is set in stone of course

it's a $$$ thing, even though a KA24 would be nicer, why spend all that money & effort tracking one down when I could do a CA18DET?

the whole Stigma would likely be under $300 all told, what engine for under $300 installed into the car with a 5spd is going to be better? cubes & X flow make it better than an L series IMO, Z series are impossible to find, let alone a RWD KA24

I've seen carbied astron fagnas get decent economy too so they aren't that nasty on fuel.

Just a pissing in the wind thing atm, need to finish that bodywork & paint first.
Good to see it has been done though & isn't too off the wall...

I know it'll make the purists spew, but has anyone seen it done?

Can maybe get a whole rusted out scorpion, idea being to use the bigger diff wiyth rear discs - well why not use the donk & 5spd as well?

I haven't measured anything yet so it might be too tall & the box mightn't fit (though I do have an auto shell) so yeah, apart from the whole Bitsaremissing stigma, is it a stupid idea?

Looking forward to some constructive replies

Matty - you must have missed how light a 1200 is, with 100rwkw it is the equivalent power to weight ratio as a stocko XR6T or LS1 commode with about 200rwkw, so therefore it should be roughly as quick.

Yes it wont beat decent examples, but if you are only aiming for stockers it'll be ok.

I don't think they are the same, but if you fill in your location perhaps someone else has one nearby?
