A lot of RWC places can do the simple mod plate stuff - it's a similar age donor car/engine so the emmisions stuff is there.

Basically if the L20B is stock, the brakes & suspension is decent they might just pass it anyway as a displacement increase, it's well within the allowable limits. You may need Stanza struts so you have larger front brakes though. How you mounted the engine & gearbox will matter the most, if you swapped with other factory gear its already passed ADRs isn't it? Custom mounts may make it more difficult.

Basically, ring a few places & see if they can do it or not. They may have changed all the rules so my knowledge could be out of date.

the three exhausts I've build have all used these lukey straight through mufflers & sounded tough.

3" on VR4 galant (high 12sec car)

2.5" on TD Hilux

twin 2.5" on VS SS Commode

I'm simply sticking with what I know

Hell, a 2" lukey sounded ok on a farking Excel a mate had, it's gotta sound good on a datto

DATSUN 1st in 4 different classes and you dont give A rats arse!!!!!!!!!
99% of this club don't realise what it takes to win a class in a rally , becuase they don't have a go !!!
I AM appalled at the lack of appreciation that these guys should recieve !!!!! for their determination and fortitude

How are we supposed to know about it? Was there another thread I missed?

Is the engine stock or fiddled in any way?

I was going to fabricate my own 2" SS mandrel bent exhaust to go from my 4->1's back - was planning a single lukey straight through muffler

Stocko A14 to start with, then mild ported head/mild cam/webber

The differing in power ratings is because early engines had SAE power vs late ones having DIN power, or something.

basically earier stuff was tested without alternators etc hooked up, later stuff tested as it is in the car.

also, SAE was rumored to mean "Say Anything Exciting"

ok, from all the searches I've done I think I've got it figured how to add in my missing tacho loop.
the wire in the following diagram is the black with white stripe wire...

is it supposed to go to the fuse box like this? it looks like it's been spliced to power something else. my understanding is it should go from the firewall connector, up to the tacho loop & back to the ignition barrel in series like the dodgy diagram I did. Am I correct?

cheers for the help guys

Ash

this may sound stupid, but carby cleaner?

It eats through some of the baked on crap pretty darn well, costs about $8 at supercheap auto.

I know a guy who used oven cleaner, but he did warn it was REALLY harsh & had to be washed off pretty quickly.
