I would have thought the cost difference is neglegable between a L16 & it's bigger brothers.

I mean if I were you, I'd try for a SII Bluey L20B and 5 speed IF it will fit with only a "massage" (aka knockometer adjustment) of the tunnel.

What is & isn't doable?

L series Article in the Tech section of this site
This article doesn't mention gearbox fitting dramas (or lack there of) at all unfortunately.

Do you still have the original/previous carb to throw back on?

Has this problem only surfaced since changing the carb I mean, or has the engine never ran

it the water is being pushed in only via boost into the compressor inlet with a hobbs switch to open/close the soleniod - you won't have much atomisation there

roughly 130hp at the crank, who knows what losses on what dyno, etc.

who cares I might add, over 100hp at the treads in a light arse car is cool regardless.

Um, how hard is fitting a turbo CAS & coils? If you're going to get a CAS you need the coils and an ECU to run them anyway - why not put GTiR quad throttles on it & do it properly

What are you trying to do here...... Go to a 25 spline axle to save weight?
The 28 spline axle out of a R31 skyline is what I'm using. It's pretty light (comparatively speaking), strong (will handle 220 hp no worries), cheap ($180 from the local wreckers) & all you have to do is get 1 axle shortened & insert a LSD centre from an EA / EB Falcon. Plus you get to use the skyline disc brake rear end.

Why do you only shorten one axle? Won't that put things off centre?

I'm very interested in using an R31 diff in my car

ahh, the A10/12 engine suppliement was on there too, might grab both. Tho the Sunny manual does list having the wagon, just not the A14.

Torque settings & bearing crush etc wouldn't change for the extra stroke, would they? one would assume the ring gap would be the same too between A14 & A15 as the ACL catalouge says they use the same rings/bearings/gaskets/etc.

Hell except for the measurements the rest of the details are probably the same on all the A1x varients anyway.
