Yes killer1200 - where did you get your 180 hp figure from??? Neil's motor dynoed at 98.7hp - a very impressive result but still shy of your claimed amount. The best recent dyno I know of was for a schmick as build A15 big block on 50 mm throttle bodies and it made 120 hp at the wheels. I love what the internet does for hp claims....

So a well sorted carbed motor can get 100hp (close enough) at the wheels, say 130hp crank? Who says 200+ with boost is impossible?

if you mean crank HP then it might be possible to stretch to 250hp with a big wallet.

I was aiming for 150hp+ out of my supercharged motor once it's built, at the crank of course. it wasn't going to be too wild either, blow thru carb - intercooled, solid state conversion, cam etc & toyota SC14 with about 14psi through it (roughly 1:1)

If an ET/EXA E15ET can get 100kw at the wheels on about 15psi, I figure a boosted A14 can do 100HP at the wheels. Surely cross flow & twin cam don't make that much diff, they are just an A15 turned sideways other than that.

IIRC I calculated that 170hp would give the car the power to weight to run a 12 like my old VR4 did, which is my straight line goal

are these special hinges? how loose are they? I assume you let them flow in towards the pickup but stop in the other direction, yeah?

cause I'm planning on making my 1200 a daily hack and a weekend supersprint/hillclimb car & the last thing I want is oil starvation issues

My web page

I've also today modified the bracket to mount the recaro into place and "hopefully" have an entire Stanza front end lined up for a bottle of grog

I was going to simply double up the factory welds (ie: drop a weld in between each factory weld)
