Fellas This was a one off I have worked on the beast for 4 months in the garage It does not have any cutouts as I run twin dellortos It felt stable..front spoiler helped Car is totally Ae86 sprinter mechanicals. Did it once. Don't need to do it again. I drive have driven this road twice a day for over 4 years. Decided to take the chance. What is nice is the look on ppl's faces when they try and overtake and you suddenly disappear in front of them.
Wow Didn't I have a great Friday. A few guys passed me on a long straight in a 2litre daewoo nubira. Mu 1200 ute has no accurate speedo cause of the 4age with twin carbs on the side. When they were a couple of hundred metres in front I caught them after about 2 km. They stopped there car one said **** we were doin 180 and you caught us. I was in fifth gear and the tacho was a 5000rpm.
Hi I've got a 4age in a datto ute. Took me forever to put it in. had to make the extractors myself. The 4age and 5 speed fit great. I also put the toyota sprinter diff in. Goes hard. Search this site for 4age and when you see Normo look at my pics. Well worth the effort.
Anyone know of a reasonable priced supplier of door and window rubbers for the datto 1200's. My 1200 ute is so noisy at 100kph+ I can't hear the radio(don't tell me to turn the radio up)
I need run the exhaust pipe in front of the back wheel on my datto ute. Anyone know what the rules are on this in NSW(Australia) its easier if it can come out the passenger side. This will allow the sway bar and panhard rod to operate easily.
I emailed a big wreckers in South Africa told him I wanted a bunch of datto 5 speeds, price was nearly $600 australian before freight. I put in a 4age and t50 5 speed instead.
Wogboy I cut the datto engine mounts off flush with the top of the original crossmember and made my own engine mounts out of 2 inch heavy angle iron and some flat plate. The clutch is (you won't believe this) original datto 1200. I used the datsun clutch fork and cut the opposite side of the bellhousing on the t50. Then is used the toyota thrust race, ground down the datto clutch fork to clear , then welded a couple of allen keys(strong steel) to reinforce the clutch fork. The result was the sweetest clutch action I have ever felt. Lucky but amazing. So I have a mechanical clutch.
I put some photos in my photo album (still trying to work out how to make them more accessible) under miscellaneous will come up as recent photos..more coming
