im seeing both sides of the table here. if we are giving opinions - heres mine haha
not a fan of LPG (my opinion) its like a carb, efi is king
Lseries turbo are underrated and will give you plenty of power, regardless of what head you use. zhead will help keep height down which is important in a 1000 but not so much in the 1200
a15 efi turbo is also an underrated thing and will give you your lightweightness
you pretty much need to determine your goals. lightweight? power? fuel efficiency? cost?
anthony morrows car is a squillion dollar highly developed nizpro motor, so cant really use it as an example.
also keep in mind that all the machining might sound cheap, but if you can;t screw it together yourself you'll be up for more, plus bearings, rings, gaskets, oils....
so whats the point of this thread again? haha

fair enough if you picked up a bargain that was in unknown cond but you have been stooged being told it was a good running engine and paying accordingly, id be getting angry and getting my cash back... anyway...
whatever you do, small power ups in the little beast will be very noticable. speak to the gurus and youll get it to handle and you'll never look back

man that is #OOPS#house. Id be wanting all of my money back and sending it back. its farked, doesn;t matter what percentage it usable.
in a loving way ill tell you - you will not IPRA race it. it costs wads of cash to build a decent car and it costs a lot to run it. Hell, club sprints aren't cheap! id say to get it to ipra spec youd have to drop 25k on it and it would be entry level... simons motec is worth over ten grand alone...
a12 totally stock internal motor with a tiny gtr turbo and efi on e85 is making 120kw at the wheels. light, bloody cheap to fix if motor pops and it all fits already. or if you wanted to pave a new path the motor you just sold sounds pretty cool
and lastly dont cop it on the chin and give us this maye its karma crap - this guy is a dick and you need to be reimbursed to start again.

so the engine has only done 150 miles? bedding in the rings is done by loading up the motor, not revving it hard. Like going for a drive up a hill/mountain... but if its down on comp and youve just done the rebuild id be looking at the head as being the culprit

Nice footage, you nsw boys seem to have a great u2l class! Chooie was doing well there too, passed under brakes then got away with the couple of extra ponies. One day I'd love to do a bit of door to door racing, it really is a massive difference from club sprints. Good work on keeping the datsun racing alive!
