Stock cable. Nah. They seem to come up for sale about once per year. One was for sale about 3 months ago on here. Probably long gone.

I havent priced it lately. .. but its worth it! I have 2, although I got both second hand.

Nobody has mentioned any other option here over the years.

The guys that try to recreate things like this generally discover that its a whoooole lot more expensive to do so than you would think.

Looks good, but i believe a lot of primers don't seal the metal underneath

therefore, i believe your metal is not protected from moisture!

too much time in just primer and additionally exposing it to weather may lead to all over surface rust

you see it in a lot of cars that have been sand/media blasted and then primed (usually for sale as projects on gumtree or ebay), then the project/paint was never completed. they end up with an all over surface rust as the enitre metal is not protected

there is ways i believe

the rule only dictates if you need to do additional testing such as torsional testing etc to get the cert
so possibly they completed the additional testing

people used to talk about getting a ute classified as a commercial vehicle becuase the rules were different

there is also ways to do it by calling the car a replica of something else and there is another set of rules

there certainely seems like there is a number of SR20det engineered cars that have popped up over the years

but CA18DET is straight forward for an engineer as it meets the formula - SR20det does not - guess it comes down to time and money to jump through the hoops

Cool - so we all seem to generally agree

JDM is "inspired" by all the other markets of the world

So JDM implies a mixture of Euro and USA and whatever else, and each is probably a mix of each other certainly in today's age.

But wait, didn't you say that a mix of two styles is a bad thing? - damn, i'm confused again... that means the cars/style you love is bad!?

1200s borrow nothing from the mustangs btw

REALLY!? REALLY!?

Its so obvious especially in the 1200 coupe that it is a total complete rip off miniature first gen mustang. And then all that flows into the Sedan etc.

The back half and especially roof line of a fiat dino looks very similar to 240z. The front looks like a triumph or jag, not any popular datsun

Nah. You missed the point. I love the diversity. I never tell people what to build or how to style their car without first asking what they want to achieve. It is you who is adamantly pushing one style. Perhaps you have a minority complex, but you should not feel that way, JDM is quite popular these days.

I met you 12 years ago and you remember that, lol. Certainly I have changed since then, you should also try to move on.

Dont forget I have a full blown race car a heavily modified street car and a stock looking street car. So straight away I have my foot in 3 camps. Call one RACE, one ADM and one JDM if you like... but to me they are just the fruit of what I wanted to build with each one or just whatever I could afford to do at the time. But certainely my own vision. Which is exactly what everyone should build... their own vision

Are you saying what the Japanese stylist intended?

They just copied british, american and european designs up until the early or mid ninties.

If you cant see that a 1000, 1200 and 120y borrow most of their styling from a mustangs then you are deluded. To do one up in american muscle style is fair enough to me. And heck if you grow up in Australia then obviously the australian scene will also influence your build

Most classic jap cars are very similar in styling to the classic cars of the world... and were always built after those cars of the world

So.... what is this JDM? Well its just a rehash of everyone elses DM really isnt it. Over the years it seems that people have forgotren what 70s jap cars really were. Obviously I love the cars but the language about what the stylist intended and how they were in japan and blah blah is just bs
