Wish I readread this before... I found a horrible combo... A15 swapping auto to manual 60 series smooth case 4 spd No engine plate plus what I assume is a van flywheel that had been lightened, its thicker behind the ring gear than an a12 flywheel.
The car wouldnt turn over. After investigation the flywheel is actually jammed almost solidly into the bellhousing
Haven't pulled the box back out yet, still crying, but I will be checking the throwout carrier size etc when I do
If anyone has an engine plate I would be keen to buy it!
If you want stock look put the new stereo in thr glove box. Sounds like you have the relocation worked put if you really wanna do that. My bro put a 1200 heater in his 4wd using the stock controller. I dont remeber a solid rod on the controller... there is two cables and the wires for fan on off as per pic above?
You want a ute shaft. I have one that needs unis replaced. But they are "non replacable" which means you need a tailshaft guy to replace em. Stock ones are a bit weak so its worth upgrading them at the same time. $100 for the shaft I have. Maybe someone else will do one cheaper.
Any particular area? Ive noticed 2 shops in Bayswater that tend to do old cars a fair bit. But haven't used myself. Can provide detail if that is any interest. I used one mob in lilydale to do chassis rails on rally car. Price and work was good but they mucked around a bit. Not sure I would recommend them for the list of stuff yoh have
yeah, i think an l-series one is a good start, but it doesnt have a cable attachment and is too long, looks like you need to attach a cable attachment (probably from stock a-series single carby) and also cut the linkage shorter and rotate it somewhat when you join it back together
i havent attempted it yet or done the fine measurements of the ball ends etc to make sure though
i've been thinking of modifying an L-series one to suit, but its not that simple to do, probably a day of stuffing around cutting welding measuring twice
