Does anyone know how I can contact Datsun 1200 racer Bruce John of San Francisco, CA? Both the email and the phone number I have for Bruce are work numbers that are no longer working. He may have retired???

Thank you,
Peter

I also have (1) of the smaller bore A12/13 Nissan Comp head gaskets, 11044-M0821. Stock bore is 73mm and the gasket works for 74 and 75mm bores. $125.80 USD plus shipping.

I can post up pictures. thanks, Peter

On race engines in the USA, I have seen racers deck several mm off of the A14 block. 3 to 3.5mm. I would not recommend it unless it is your only option.

Some racers use an 70mm A12 crank in an A14 block, with 133mm (stock) A14 rods and stock piston pin height race piston. They would then deck the A14 block down to make the pistons at deck height.

Other racers would instead use 136mm rods (or longer rods with shorter custom pistons) and not deck the block. I used the 137-138mm rods with shorter pistons, leaving the block height near stock (just decked to clean it up).

If you deck the block several mm you have to shorten the head bolts, and you have to deepen the dowel locators to locate the head. Again, I would not recommend it unless you have no better option.

Datsun 1200 Race Car for 2015 USA Race Season

I have a Datsun 1200 full race car for rental OR TO BORROW for the 2015 race season in the USA. Races start in January 2015 at Homestead Miami Florida and Sebring Florida.

[The rental will be very low, an amount that the will cover the race shop owner's expenses. You can also borrow the car FOR FREE if you have a race shop in the USA that you can use. Yes, I do loan out Datsun race cars.]

Car has an A12 engine with individual runner fuel injection and a Megasquirt controller.

If you have a competition license in your country, it should be no problem to get an SCCA license in the USA.

In September 2015 we will have our US Championships. My goal is to have a racer in this Datsun for that event. [Now, to be perfectly honest, the car will take some work, and will be in the middle of the field of race cars. If you want to win a US championship with this car, much more work will be required.]

Photos coming soon.

Peter

I have a package of (21) race valves - ALL 7mm stem, all stainless steel, most used. These came from an engine builders house after he passed away in 1992. [I threw away an addition 20 valves that I thought were not worth of sending to someone.]

Set of (9) with 38.5mm head; set of (4) 40mm; (4) matched 32mm and another set of (4) matched 32mm. All are between 101mm and 104 mm overall length. $100 USD for all 21 of these valves. [$68 USD shipping for Priority Mail 7-9 days.]

I also have 2 sets of 1.50 ratio roller tip JB Racing rockers. Near new. $250 per set of (8). [Shipping is $30 USD for Priority Mail 7-9 days.]

I can do PayPal or Western Union. I can combine shipping. Peter

I am selling a complete Kinsler mechanical pump fuel injection system from a 1975 Crossle 32F Sports Racer running Datsun A-series. $2500 USD plus shipping. [Apologies for the high price. It is a one of a kind and should be used on a historic car.] This car was using an A14 engine de-stroked down to under 1300cc, with modified GX race cylinder heads and a full race engine.

The Kinsler Fuel Injection System comes with a mechanical, crank driven fuel pump; a collection of "pills" (like fuel jets and act the same way); the crank drive mandrel and all pump mounting pieces, and all hardware for the pump; the intake adapter; and the intake stacks with the fuel injection. I will include all fuel lines. The system was started and run in 1992 on the engine, tuned in the shop and then stored in a heated, air conditioned shop until I purchased the Crossle.

[I purchased this car because the engine has a set of titanium A14 con rods in the engine. I've never seen a set of Ti con rods. I will sell off the Crossle - they are popular here as Formula Fords - and sell off the rest of the parts.]

I have a collection of photos that I can send. The file of documents includes a receipt from 1992, instruction and parts manuals and misc paperwork.

Edit: I found 2 NEW fuel pumps, for a total of 3 mechanical pumps that will go with this sale.

If anyone is visiting the USA and wants to see racing, let me know. For most events (except the highest level NASCAR events) I should be able to get you in for free.

If you want to see Datsuns racing, plan on October 10-11-12, 2014 at Mazda Raceway (also known as Laguna Seca Raceway) in Laguna Seca, California. Mild weather, good hills to watch racing, and a collection of racers trying for a US Championship. [That event is the SCCA Runoffs.] Very fan friendly.

Peter
