Motorcycle Gears for 63A Input Conversion

I want to make a "cheap" closer ratio 5-speed for the 1200s and B210s that I loan out here in the US. [If you want to come over to the US and race a car on the cheap, let me know.]

Has anyone tried to find a set of Motorcycle gears that are spaced 63mm apart to use as donor gears for a 63A conversion? I want to replace just the input gear and the matching counter gear on a stock 63A transmission to bring the ratios closer. If I could find any motorcycle with the 63mm spacing I need, I could do it cheaply.

Any ideas? Thank you, Peter

Anyone traveling in the US this July/August??? Want to be part of a race weekend?

I know this is a long shot, but anyone who loves Datsuns is welcome to join me and several Datsun race cars at the St. Louis Summer Showcase races August 3/4 at Gateway. St. Louis is right in the middle of the USA, a short drive south of Chicago.

We will have 5-6 Datsuns running and I might need a hand if all of them act up at the same time. Plus there will be free food and beer after the race day is over. It might not be Aussie Touring Cars, but you will meet plenty of nice people. If you are an experienced corner marshall, let me know and I can put you in touch with our lead marshall.

Later in the year [September 16-22] will be our year end championship races at Road America, a few hours north of Chicago. Again, if you want to plan a trip to the US and want to be part of a big Club race week, I can surely use the help (and will enjoy the company). That is a very nice track and a nice time of the year to visit.

Thank you,
Peter

Tom, Often we would cut the floor/trunk pan above the H190 pumpkin (for travel) and make a removable cover out of aluminum. Make sure it has nothing to hit. Peter

I have a spare Toyota T50 gearbox with the Houseman Autosport straight cut gears. Complete gearbox. Ratios are near 1.75; 1.40; 1.20; 1.00 and 0.90. I say "near" because I run this same style gearbox in my race car. I've bought several, changed gears around, and I'm starting to get a collection of spare 1st/2nd/3rd/5th gears. That's what I wanted was a collection of gear to swap around.

We also have the option to change 5th gear for a very low ratio pit gear (allowing you to run a taller rear end ratio).
1 3 5
2 4 R

or
1 3 Pit
2 4 R

$4500 USD with gearing to suit your needs. Contact me if you want to chat about options.

Joe,
The #202-4202 has 10 studs of the same length (like in the early A12 with the distributor up front), while the #202-4203 has one longer stud to fit into the middle bolt hole that is recessed into the block beside the oil passage.

Does the 1976 A12 block use 10 same length cylinder head bolts or does it have a longer bolt in the center on the spark plug side?
