You guys think P510/1600 owners are bad?
They have got NOTHING on the arrogance & elitism of 240Z/260Z Zed owners...

Have a bit of a chip on your shoulder, pepper?
I'm not going to get into a name calling war - that's meant for 8 year olds in the playground.

I'm not REAL car enthusiast?
How do you base that assumption?
I'd LOVE some clarification on that.

The circumstances surrounding John's incident are unknown to most people, but needless to say that on NYD, on that section of road, that early in the morning would be so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

And yes I am defending John. Why shouldn't I?
If the situation was different, so would be my attitude.
I abide by the road rules 99% of the time, as do most motoring enthusiasts, but we are individual beings with our own minds we are capable of making our own decisions & living with the consequences.

I've made my point so I shall leave it at that.
But I do enjoy stirring the pot from time to time...
Now that I've had a 6-pack & a nose full of coke, I'm gonna hop in my Skyline & rip some skidz down the road to the pub - bye!

My My , lot of very uninformed people are voicing there opinions...

I know John B quite well. I spent a week with him in Tassie last year & I can quite honestly say he's one of the most experienced drivers I've ever driven with
(And I driven with quite a few).
I know the section of road where him & Rob were booked on very well as I've lived in the area my whole life.
It's a nice, fairly smooth open piece of road where visibility is VERY good & as such higher speeds are attainable very easierly.
The fact that there was a radar on that road (where I have never seen one in 20 yrs) smacks of a tipoff to the police...
His car in question is a HEAVLY modified GTiR Pulsar (AWD for those not in the know). It's got a reasonable amount of power,
with a heavily developed suspension package & brakes that could stop a Jumbo on a 10c piece. It's also running 'R-spec' tyres so grip is not an issue...
It is far more suited to high speed road driving than the local traffic police's SS Crumpledoors...

Was the 170kph attained by John irresponsible in that situation? I personally don't believe so.
I also believe that the comments on here made by people who DO NOT know the circumstances are grossly arrogant & uninformed.
It's always easier to point the finger when it's not you...

At the end of the day though, in the eyes of our 'Nanny State' gumbyment he's been a bad bad boy, so he's been made an example of...
