I got this in an Email friday...:

THE NISSAN DATSUN SPORTS NATIONALS 2007

Greetings, again from the Organizing Committee of the 2007 Nationals.

Please note that we are moving ahead with all of the arrangements for Easter 2007, however we have had a small hiccup in our plans, that being the accommodation.

We had tentatively booked a large venue on the foreshore of Cowes, the main town on the Island, which had in excess of 50 rooms. However we were informed last week that there have been some complications with the owners and the lease holders of the building, which has seen that the location will no longer be available over the Easter Weekend.

It would be fair to say that this has created a slight problem. We are however in the process of finding a new venue(s) to hold several of the events, as well as finalizing the accommodation situation.

We will be heading off to Philip Island next week to have these plans finalized, and so that we will be able to advise you all of the accommodation plans for this event. We will have a centralized number for you to call, which will make the booking of your required accommodation much easier. This will be publicised as soon as we have the number in place.

There have been a couple of changes to the event schedule, and we have enclosed the NEW schedule below for your reference.

FRIDAY - REGISTRATION

FRIDAY EVENING - WELCOME GET TOGETHER

SATURDAY - SUPER SPRINT, PHILIP ISLAND GRAND PRIX CIRCUIT

OR

A LOVELY COUNTRY DRIVE THROUGH SOUTHERN VICTORIA, WITH A LUNCH TIME PARADE AROUND THE CIRCUIT.

SATURDAY EVENING - THE PENGUIN PARADE

SATURDAY NIGHT - TRIVIA NIGHT

SUNDAY - CONCOUR D'ELGANCE

SUNDAY EVENING - PRESENTATION DINNER

MONDAY MORNING - FAREWAELL BREAKFAST

We will have Official Entry Forms, accommodation details etc. available before the end of November, when we hope entries will be open for acceptance.

As you can imagine, space for this weekend will be limited, due to the nature of the event and the location. Therefore we recommend that you get your entries in early.

We are most apologetic for not being able to relay the accommodation details to you at this time, but hope that you will be patient with us while we sort this out with our host at Phillip Island.

More details will follow once we have them all finalised.

Use 180B tie-rod ends on your 200B arms to match the taper.

Unfortunetly I can't come,
I have a twilight hillclimb on at Morwell the night before - so it'll be a real late one for me.
(Plus I've sold the Sunny).

Some other time perhaps...

Hrmm...
'AA Gaskets' make a few good points there.
Well in the end mate it's really up to you.
You could always assemble the engine with the gaskets dry & see what happens.

What will happen Ben, is that after you have done a few engines you will hit upon a 'magic' combination of assembly that will work really well for you.
I was merely adding my methods that have worked for me.

Yes, the Ultra Blue IS a gasket former/maker but I have found it beneficial to add a VERY thin film of it to troublesome gaskets that are in contact with lots of oil - e.g. sump, timing case etc.

Oh, & 1 last tip: I suggest wiping every mating surface where a gasket goes with
