Its always a tuff one, my old 1600 (and first datto) is in the trading post at the moment.
It would be nice to get it back, but in the end it's just a car... and I've built another datsun since.

Datsport were selling the cone shaped ones NOS for $320, not sure if they still have any available.
Apart from that, craig from datniss (now tokyo-2u on ebay) seems to sell some second hand sets from time to time, they are the easiest way to get them.
Alternatively, don't those second style ones just look like normal door mirrors turned around?
If you don't have any luck finding a set, I've got some chrome bullet style mirrors that bolt onto 180b's stock guard holes without mods, and they look good.

Put an A15 + manual in it. Then upgrade later on if you feel the need.
barring that just put manual in it and some better suspension and a small front brake upgrade, you have heaps of fun and won't cost you much.
EDIT - sr20de is doable on a budget, but you really need mates that know how to wire stuff, and also have accumulated a ####load of spares to take some of the costs out (and hide them from the missus).
a guy named Richard put an SR20de into a stock 1200, take a look at teamshitbox.com I think the site was, don't think the pics are still there though.

Anyone know if the 180b control arms bolt to the stock 120y crossmember?

Thanks for the reply fellas, so the summary is that stock crossmember, custom mounts (possibly stanza) and just use a jack to widen the tunnel is the go to fit the gearbox.
240k brake master for the brakes.
Is there any other stock nissan control arm that bolts on that is longer (for camber on the front).

Wow, is your mate dave miransky?
Does the car have a ford 9inch diff? just trying to work out if we are referring to the same car.
When you say crossmember mods, do you mean just engine mounts, or was there something else involved?
Cheers for the other info though!

Thanks for the input guys, not really interested in purchasing a maddat kit, but the modifying of the original mounts to stanza mounts does interest me, as the SR has a front facing sump, so there is a chance it will fit just with modded mounts on the stock crossmember.
One thing I'm not sure of is it the gbox bellhousing will clear steering components.
A friend of a friend does own an SR20DET 120y (aqua one), engineered in nsw along time ago, so I might try and get in touch with him to see how the conversion was done.
I also have a spare 180b front end from my old coupe I wrecked, and I would have though that the length of the 180b control arms would give wider track etc. Any bump steer issue introduced could be countered with some bump steer spacers, so not a major issue.
Anyone got any input on radiator choices or clutch/brake masters?

Hey Guys, just after some info for a potential conversion I'm considering.
Apart from the obvious fuel and brake upgrades, what parts are required to put a SR20de into a RHD 120y?
Would you use a reversed 180b engine crossmember and control arms, or is the stanza or similiar the go?
How about clutch and brake master cylinders, what are people using?
Radiators? (assuming S13 gear may fit).
Thanks
Martin
