Spoke to the owner last night.

He said he was prepared to sell it and was going to talk to his mechanic about prices...

The upside of this: The mechanic that is looking at the car now for RWC is MY MECHANIC, and has already told me that a fair price to offer him would be about $750 ! Waiting to hear back from the owner...

Found out the history of the car also, was bought brand new in Maryborough, Vic. The man that bought it recently died (aged 94) and was sold to the current owner only weeks ago quite cheaply.

As for Rego, thanks for the suggestions, never looked at it that way. Not sure if the current owner is on health care card or not, but if he is, will ask him to pay the rego for me and then i will change it to my name...

Would be handy because the rego runs out in november ! !

Anyways guys, will post up here as soon as i know any more ! Thanks for all the replies !

Hey all, found a 120y i wanna buy. I have to make an offer though.

Its in beaut condidtion, with an original 60,000k's on the clock. The car is pretty much roadworthy. No rust at all, a couple of small dents in the panels. A good polish, a service and a good drive, and shell be like new.

Anybody got any idea what a fair offer would be for this car?

Hi all, after a cheap 120y in Vic.

Doesnt need to have engine or box, however the body has to have minimal rust and dents...

Anybody able to help? PM me, or add me to MSN messenger, steele87@hotmail.com

Thanks in advance

Ok, im no expert.

1) Depending on how long the tranny has been under your car, i wouldnt worry about all the oil covering it. Give it a good clean before it goes back in.

2) Just a guess, but i think your engine mounts may be shot. Ive pulled the tranny out of my 120y a fair few times, and never has my engine tilted back so far... I may be completely wrong, but to me that doesnt look normal.

Gday,

Just wondering, is there any fuel injection system that is a straight bolt-on for an A12 engine?

ie. I wanna take a setup from a different car, that will bolt straight on, and wire it up...

Any help / advice appreciated.

Hey everyone...

Just after some advice / suggestions for my 120y (2 Door Sedan)

Its all stock standard at the moment, engine is like new. Was rebuilt about 12 months before i inherited the car from my mum, then i drove it for 9 months and its now been un used for a while.

Id like to do some work on it to make it more suited to rallying / bushbashing.

Anybody have any suggestions on things i could do.

The suspension is pretty much shot so ill have to fix that.
