I can see your point but I would prefer to spend the money on the car after buying it that way I know exactly what, why and how things are done in regards to body work and so on. Rust repair , body work , mechanicals are the easy part . I'm a Shipright & Boilermaker/coded welder by trade/s with plenty of mechanical engineering experiance and my brother inlaw's a pannelbeater by trade .
Plus I still have my ute for spares like a bomed A14, wheels, 5speed and so on......but thanks for the offer

Have a few sedan bits and pices available for sale or swap;
left and right rear doors 99.9% rust free.
Both doors have a very small amount of surface rust at the bottoms in the usual places. Right hand rear door has a small dent and the window in the left hand door doesn't wind up and down- haven't invesigated to find out why. all chrome and glass in perfect condition.

Rear latch striker plates like brand new

Left and right original rear door trims - like brand new including the ashtray in left door trim.

Boot lid 99.9% rust free.
small amount of surface rust forming arount the original glue points between the inner and outer pannels and a few very small dents around the locking barrel- barrel missing by the way and so is the datto 1200 badge.

Tail light lenses and chrome surrounds. one surround has a very minor dent ( hard to notice) and one lense has the small fin broken off on the outside of the indicator part of the lense, again, not that noticable.

Rear numberplate lense and surround in perfect condition.

Roof lining in perfect condition apart from being a bit grubby. no holes ( apart from the ones that are suppose to be there) or tears.

Rear window
fuel flap minus barrel
fuel tank minus sender
Boot rubber lining in very good condition along with the original wooden spare wheel cover
rear upper part of back seat in perfect condition
Rear bumper -straight but chrome has gone

best offer on any or all is good enough or swap for 1200 dash/crash pad in good condition and instument pannel with round guages ( taco or clock, not important) in KMH.

Put it this way, the less I spend , the more I can spend on it....
Noticed a few in perth for $ 6-7K which I couldn't afford, missed one a couple of weeks ago due to waiting for the insurance company to make up their minds- 1980 1200 with rust in sills, A14 and rego till December went for $900 -BUGGER IT!!

Geoff,
Do your flair kits "mesh" nicly with the front air dams? or is this a "cut & shut" fitment?

If its any help, I'm looking into 16" on stanza struts.
Tyres would be 205/45 R16 which are the same diameter as 195/60 R14 = 590mm. A 195/60 R14 on a stanza strut with the average alloy wheel gives 3mm of tyre/strut clearance. I have my "tyre dude" looking into 16" wheel offset at the moment to see what would be available and how much fender protrusion (Spelling?...its late and I should be in bed by now) we will end up with using the 205 16's.

As a coparison, I'm using 195/60 R14's which clear everything without mods and the car sits at 505mm to the bottom of the headlight ( 5mm above legal hight)

Anyone running fender flares on a ute?
I've done a bit of searching and have found plenty of coupe's with flares but not too many utes.
Toying with the idea of fitting flares and possibly wider tyres for street use.

If anyone has a ute with flares plesae post some pics.
Thanks.
J.

sorry guys, should have explained a bit more about the sedan.
Although the sedan is almost rust free its un licanced has no interior , dash, seats, motor, gearbox, pedals ( brake, clutch) and the biggest problem is the sedan has not got 1 single peice of wire left in the whole car. The owner has completly stripped every last wire from the car for the purpose of seling the copper for scrap. Where basically talking a completly stripped rolling sedan shell with a couple of doors .
