Blown intercooler piping or hoses is my bet. I have had this happen to me a few times. Did it make a loud pop noise when it happened? The noise it makes over 3000 dosnt sound good though good luck

Hey coops how close is the clutch master cylinder to the inlet manifold? the master cylinder looks as if it would be pretty close.
I have mine right beside the brake master cylinder a lot shorter and its still close.
Cheers Andrew

Ahh yes the poor old datto will be moving to a new home. At least she is staying in the datsun 1200.com family
Im sure Harry will enjoy the coupe and put down some mega quick times. I wish him luck im sure he will drive it like it was built for
She will be missed although I am looking forward to cruising in the GTR.
Dont worry I havnt given up on 1200's I will hopefully be doing another 1200 soon not big hp turbo power but maybe a potent A series if all goes to plan.
Cheers Andrew

im guessing u just hooked the fuel line into the little clamps under the tunnel

Thats correct. Although now I have both feed and return lines I use riveted brackets that hold the bundy tube in possition.

No mate its best to upgrade your fuel lines. I used the stock fuel line as a return to the tank with my stock ca18. I now use 5/16 bundy tube for return and 3/8 for feed. Make sure you use EFI fuel hose for the pressure side and also make sure you run a filter before your pumps and also an efi filter between the efi pump and fuel rail.

Yes leave the crossmember in but remove the engine mounts from both the crossmeber and engine block that way its easier to sit the engine low and as far forward as possible. Its the only way to get all the bolts together will sitting in the engine bay. Sit the engine on crossmember with a little weight on engine crane to keep it at the rigth angle.
Good luck Andrew

Hey Campo sounds good you can get a full ACL race series gasket set that gives you the works including MLS head gasket. Has every gasket you will need including turbo manfiold ect ect cost around $600 from memory the tomei metal head gaskets are nearly that alone.
Im using the ACL gasket set in my latest build all fitted sweet and had a few spare.
Also get yourself a gates race timing belt around $90-$120 a ste of adjustable gears for cams even with stock cams can make nice gains with a bit of dyno time.
Cheers Andrew
