The 1200 ute is only legal as a 2 seater :( its on the ADR plate. You would have to have a chat to a engineer to see if it
could be changed

Well if you have a 1:1 5 speed I would recomend selling it as it would break for sure.Unle4s it has the really big input and output shaft. The 3T toyota box that is behind the engine has
real nice ratio's it on overdrive box but handle the power nicely. One thing the engine is not 170 hp more like around 150-160 with carb could get more with injection but more $$$. The
extractors are 1.75" primaries mandrel bent with 2.5" collector If you like when you get the $$ i can fit it get it running right ect will need new tailshaft ect I still have all the custom
gearbox mounts and tailshaft but diff yoke would be different.I know of a 1200 coupe with a 1200 ute diff ect not bad nick for $2000 can get in contact if you want he is in sydney.

Stay right away from the J15 engines they came in the 1500 table top utes really old ones. They only have 3 main bearing caps and have a cast head from memory !! the A12 would
go better and last longer. I had a mate who worked in a wrecking yard & mechanical shop they where always keeping him in work either bearings wearing out or many other probs.
Stick with the A series can cop a floging and go better for longer.

Roland A A14 into a 1200 coupe is a very straight forward conversion. From memory only the engine mounts had to be changed plus some wiring as alternator is on other side of engine.
For the left hand side engine mount I welded two together as the engine mount sits about 40mm further back I welded a 40x80mm plate on right hand side with slot for it to bolt up.
As for the gearbox Im not sure with the 5 speed but the A14 4 speed bolts straight up without mods just had to enlarge tunnel a bit with a FBH (F@$#@$ Big Hammer :)Even better if the
engine and box is for free well worth a couple of hours work changing mounts.

Stanza struts and lower control arms bolt up with minimal mods. Can also fit the 200B disc's and callipers to the stanza strut or if after really big brakes Audi disc's with Hilux
4 spots do the job nicely.Stanza brakes are around 9" solids work ok with low hp engine :)

I dissagree My 160hp A14 with twin 45's run to 8000rpm without any problems with a stock fuelpump I think the Su's just are not relly good for really high RPM I had a set on a
A12 gx power was great up top with single weber but twin SU's run out of puff above 6400rpm.
you will find with stock Valve springs they will start to bounce at them sort of revs anyway.
My 2 cents worth.
