Well, the sedan's coming along nicely and with a growing family I'll be able to take them all in it. Plus my Valiant's sitting outside cause there's no room in the shed.
Too many other projects and the missus's cracking the sh@ts.

It cost me 4 grand to replace both rear quarters, both guards, the bonnet and both sills on my B120, all work done by myself. It took a few years to do, but well worth it. If you've got that much money to spend, why not do it yourself and sink the rest of the money into the motor.

I wouldn't even consider it. You could strip your ute to a bare shell, buy yourself a mig welder, an air compressor, and all the gear you need, teach yourself to weld on the frame, stuff it up and have to start again 6 times, teach yourself to spray paint, and have to remove what you've tried 11 times before your satisfied, and still end up with the same job those blokes will do, and you'll do it yourself, so you'll do wverything to the standards you expect, and you'll walk away with skills that will last you a life time. And a mig welder. And a compressor. And all the extra tools. And a sense of self satisfaction that will beat anything else you'll ever do.

You could try wrapping your exhaust manifold, or rerouting your fuel lines, or even building a tin/aluminium heat shield to sit between the exhaust and intake manifolds.

What kind of engine?
