Is carpet an option ? I am placing compressed custom boards in my tray, then covering them with carpet. No rubber linging or painting would make my tray look respectable. Cheers

Hey there guys. I have a concern. I have replaced the rear main seal in my CA18DET, and its now leaking again. I didnt take any short cuts, i bought geniune seals from nissan ( front, rear, and cam seals). I had it installed buy a mechanic, whom i am going to visit today about it. I'd like to know the predictable answer he will try and bluff me with, avoiding warrenty on his work. Any help would be appreciated. Clayton

Now back together and loom conected, good eath contacts, but no spark. Can i do a process of elimination of troubleshooting? appreciate any help. thanks

Hey, i am wanting to turn my ca18 g/box from electronic speedo to cable. And i am led to belive this can be done with a 240k or 280c, as posted by Chris Shoesmith in another thread. Anyone have one or know of where to get one. Im trying to save myself, 200 phones calls to various wreckers. Your help would be appreciated. Best Regards, Clayton

Thanks for the reasuring feedback guys. I am looking at it in a positive aspect, and i wll OWN the car when im finished which is a bonus. And everbody reasures me i will be excited to drive it. Just a long 18 -20months i guess. Better than spending it at the pub every weekend chasing women. Thanks again, and besides, i now have a range of friends that money cant buy, hehe. and i know if i see a datsun enthusiast its an immediate acceptance through common intrests.

Hey guys. im 80% through my 1200 ute conversion ( ca18det ). And was told originally by various people that it can be done for approx $12k. Im up to approx 16.5k with about $4k to go (upholstery, rego, enginering, & miscelainious). Now i have had alot of the work done myself, and cheaply by mates (Bed lip cut off and welded, bluebird tranny tunnel put in, both free of charge) . Im a little disheartnd by the total ACTUAL cost, and just curious to know what it has cost others. ( particulaly the ca18det ones ) I am running everything stock standard, computer, turbo, boost. And havnt rebuilt the engine incase your wondering. Cheers Clayton.
