Trying to fit the header I bought from Feral at DatRats. He told me it would interfere and would need to be adjusted but I'm not sure how to do it. IN the pic below there's a black mark which is where it hits the transmission (doesn't hit the gearbox like I thought it would) - which is kinda weird because I thought the LHD and RHD blocks and trannys were the same. On well, anyway right at that mark it probably needs about 1/4" to 1/2" to fix the problem. Shoudl I just hammer that spot in - or will that kill flow in that tube? If not, how would I go about fixing this? I don't know how the whole cluster of tubes coudl be bent all together without breaking something, and it's not possible to bend them one at a time. Well anyway I appreciate any suggestions.

hey 71 coupe,
sorry I don't know enough to help you but I just wanted to ask you where are you in TX? I'm in the dallas area. I'm also starting a rebuild on my A14. If you're in the area I'd be interested in finding out where you're getting your engine work done (such as crank balancing etc). Good luck with the rebuild

Thanks for the pics. It's nice to see someone going all out on a B310 (and the early ones with the round headlights is a plus). Keep us updated - I'd love to see the finished project.

Just missed a dual SU carb manifold on ebay: auction

Of course then you would need a linkage, carbs and header but really the manifold is the hardest to find part. Now sure about weber setups. Look in the carb tech section and then post a wanted ad in the classifieds. There are lots of members here with junk laying aroud that they don't need or use!
good luck

HOw much was it and are there any more? Is it for round or oval ports? Thansk Oh and it looks great by the way - real snakey... But actually I like the finish on the one errol sells better ;)

Nevermind - I foudn the site. Damn the price comes out about the same as the datrats one but it'd be worth it not to have to modify it to fit around the steering box.

I think I'm starting to figure it out now. I've found a couple of US places who have good experience with A series cams and offer several grinds, both for about $100. www.iskycams.com is one. This page is for the "DATSUN: 4 Cyl. 1300 cc (B-210) & LATE 1200 cc Pushrod Engine (A-12)". That shoudl also work for the A14/15 right? Which of those listed would be best for mild street performance (good drivability etc)? I'm guessing the one listed at the top based on the shorter duration and lower lift.

lalalalaaaaaaa i could go on forever but they're all available with google.

Please do go on. That's what these forums are for. And maybe you'll hit upon one in the US ;) I did find the Crow Cams website before I posted this but the only thing I saw was a listing of Datsun OHC cams. Didn't know they had other applications. Sent an email inquiry but got nothin. But seriously if you know of other sources please post them here. I did search google for quite awhile actually and kept coming up empty. Maybe I jsut "suck at the internet". LOL

Also could someone explain difference between buying an aftermarket with a particular grind and with just having the stock cam ground? If you end up with the same thing then why doens't everyone just grind the stock cam? Sorry if these are dumb questions but I'm just learning here. THanks -
