yeah mines an 1981 model ...... t still just says a12 on the engine bay, not a12a.....

i saw a guy who had a racing a14 coupe, he showed me how most guys just bolt the extra steel plate on with the bolt a bit further back....( like that diagram) so it makes more sense lookin at the diagram now...

hye guys... just reading the tech section about installing an a15 into a 1200..

by reading this quote does this mean on a ute the mounts dont have to be altered?

"There is a simple procedure for fitting an A14/15. If you own a Datsun 1200 ute, the chances are your A14/15 will bolt up and start due to the fact that the cross-member has different shaped mounts. The 1200 Coupe, Sedan and Wagon are a different story."

obviously i have a ute....

hey guys, just thinking about putting a 1500 in my 1200 ute, i hear that it is an easy conversion, however is it just a straight engine swap, can i use the existing 4 speed and diff???
will it be worth doing, or is there not really much more power gain???
