Thanks for sharing. Now I know what to look for. I have a sedan and I'm on my last fill hose.

I think the numbers on the hose in your picture are enough.
They say that the hose "Meets U.S.C.G. Standards for specification SAE J1527 TYPE B2."

The farthest for me is from the San Francisco Bay Area down to Long Beach. About 400mi (643km) each way. A12/5spd.

Also, Mt. Shasta, 290mi each way.
South Lake Tahoe, 200mi.

I think any future gains might come from more aero work. The wind noise on the road tells me the car is not nearly slippery enough. I plan to do some front and rear end aero mods in the future to see if we can reach the 80's.

Yea, I'm sure that drip rail on the 'A' pilar isn't doing you any favors. Some creative use of tape may help.

Good job and congrats!

Here's some more stuff for your table...
http://www.airtab.com/en/
I read about these air tabs in Sport Compact Car.

Also, the side markers could possibly be mounted from inside the panel. Basically, instead of lens, housing, fender, clip its fender, lens, housing, clip. The screw head would be the only thing sticking out. I think I have an example pic.

I'm planning on going.
My car wasn't ready last year, won't be ready this year and I don't care. I'm still driving down. I hope nothing falls off on the way.
When are you planning to drive down DD?

I've tried to read this whole thread. I try and read a little at a time or my brain hurts. :)

I have a question regarding gas and weight savings. I apologize if it's already been covered.
During the competition, are you allowed to use a different size gas tank? I did a quick google search and see that a gallon of gasoline weighs aproximately 6lbs. If Im not mistaken, durring the last competition, you used less that 3 gallons of gas. 3 gallons should weigh about 18lbs vs 10gallons at +60lbs.

I was just lurking and decided to reply to a thread.
I logged in and was pleasantly surprised that it (the site) kept me on the same page.

Thanks

FYI,
that mangled, modded strut tower that DD posted is mine.
I took that picture after I was involved in an accident.
It actually held up pretty well.

I think the californians found that the grape flavour of fanta gave better atomisation of fuel due mainly to their specific weather conditions.

Speaking of specific weather conditions, I like to pour some into the radiator to help with heating during the winter.

Sort of the opposite of WaterWetter.
