The metal grill mounts onto two tabs that are spot welded close to the headlights and one in the center, right in front of the hood latch. Angelo

I've used a Pertronix,Inc IGNITOR (p/n 1181) for many years. It costs about $60USA and fits in the stock A12 distributor. Not including the time to read the instructions, it takes less than half an hour to install. The one problem is that you cannot use a high output coil. It cannot handle the high current. BUT... it makes a great trigger for an MSD. Also, you can easily reinstall your points if it ever fails. I carry a brand new set of points in my car for just such an emergency. Angelo

Oh, by the way, your speedometer might be off with the 5spd. The 5spds from B210's here in the US have an extra tooth on the output shaft. The stock trans has a speedo gear ratio of 17/5. The five speeds are 17(?)/6. Actually, who cares!?! Overdrive has priority over reverse lights and acurate speedo's. Angelo

I use a fan from a Sentra. Im sorry but i dont remember what year, its an early sentra from the 80's. Anyways, its very thin. I have a radiator from a 75-78 B210(6.25 quarts, manual trans) and its about 3in wider that the stock radiator. The extra three inches is on the passenger side, the fan is mounted on this side under the radiator hose. This offset gives me a little more room between the fan and the water pump pulley. I trimed the fan housing a little and screwed one side onto the end of the radiator the other side is mounted right on the radiator fins with platic zip-tie things use to mount oil coolers. Although the fan and the bolts on the pump pulley have "self-clearanced" it has worked fine for 4 years. I also use an andjustable temp. fan swich from HAYDEN. Its about $40 and i found it at pepboys. This switch uses a temp probe that you shove in between the radiator fins. I also installed a switch so that i could turn off the fan or turn it on manually. I added an LED light next to my water temp gauge so that i can see if the fan is on while im driving. My exhaust is so damn loud i cant hear the fan kick on. If i could send pictures i would. If you need more info please ask. Angelo

Dude, my starter did the same thing. I would take off the solenoid and clean it and that would last for a couple of days. I would use a quarter to touch the 'battery' terminal with the 'start' terminal and the car would start everytime. I replaced the starter and the samething happened. I checked the ignition switch, cleaned the battery, installed a new battery cable to the stater and nothing seemed to work. I figure, after 27 years, the wires are getting old. Anyways, I used a 30AMP automotive style relay to activate the starter solenoid and have not had a problem since ( since Aug 99). The ignition switch only turns on the 30amp relay, which doesn't require alot of current. I'll probably use a FORD style starter solenoid in place of the 30amp relay in the future. This is commonly done to solve 'hot' start problems in older GM's. If you'd like i could draw up a wiring diagram to show how this works. Angelo

You correctly read the Nissan Motorsports Catalog. I think these are competition or race parts and were not available as a stock option. At least not in the USA. According to the Chilton Repair Manual for Datsun/Nissan 1200, B210, 210 and Sentra 1973-88 American and Canadian versions..."The 1977-78 B210 uses the model FS5W63A five speed transmission. The 1979 210 has a FS5W60L five speed transmission, while the 1980 and later use the FS5W60A five speed transmissions." I think I've used all three of these. They all look about the same. A Haynes Repair Manual shows the gear ratios for the 60L as .845 in 5th. And it has the R-1,2-3,4- 5 pattern. Anyways, they're out there somewhere. Happy Hunting.LOL.

I've signed up and have read about 100 previous massages...now i have a headache. Too much information. Anyways, I'll reply to a few topics. Regarding an A12 with A13,A14,A15 heads, the oil supply to the rocker arms is a little different. I have a 5spd in my 1200 sedan from a 210. The trans bolts on to the engine(the A series bellhousings are the same) with only one problem the reverse light switch hits the body trans mount. Oh well, no reverse lights. The FS5W60A (current trans) has a 1-2,3-4,5-R shift pattern. The FS5W60L has the R-1,2-3,4-5 pattern. I have the gear ratios written somewhere. I remember that 3rd is closer to 2nd on the L and both have .846:1 5th. They both look and fit the same. The 3 previous 5spds,that i used, were wasted do to bearing failure. So when this one started buzzing, i had it rebuilt with new bearings and seals. It has lasted about a year so far.
