nope, typical A series pump. i just now peeled back the screen & pressurized the pickup tube - finger over tube, air nozzle in other end - not an air leak in the tube welds...

it's definitely deeper but doesn't really matter, I dont want it lower than the Xmember.Going back to stock.

more concerned with figuring out why no oil pressure, seems odd that I cant get the pressure to comeup even when pickup submerged in oil, just cranked w/filter & sending unit port open & nada comes out.

I like they're homemade windage tray, somebody back in the day was trying hard to mod this motor. I think this thing has flat top pistons with a slight recess into the edge for the spark plugs as well, haven't pulled the head yet, I was hoping to run it on the stand first

heres some pic's of the A12 Im playing with, got it to run briefly but no oil pressure. Pulled the pan & found all this, I know it'd been modded obviously but had never looked inside. Surprisingly clean inside & looks to be in decent cond. has approx 190 PSI 1 thru 4 cyl's.

I couldn't get any oil pressure from it though. Pulled the pan and found the pickup tube screen smashed all the way into the tube and it seemed to have a silicone goo plug stuck in the screen, cleaned that out, puul the screen back out & tried to bring up oil pressure by inserting the pickup into a bucket of oil & cranking the engine over (flywheel & started attached to block) still no oil flow.

Only thing I can think of is perhaps the welds on the pickup tube extension are leaking air, I put a new gasket inbetween the pickup & block...

curious what crank this is, cant find a reference to a H1040 crank, stamped on the journal...

Im planning on replacing the pickup & pan with stock 1200 ones then ck pressure. Any other reasons anyone can think of for no oil pressure? tried 3 pumps BTW...

weird problem.

I dont remember exactly which bulbs I bought but I replaced almost everything , turns, side markers, reverse, brake, dome, dash light - those bulbs came a little long so I sanded them down to fit the socket on a bench sander, worked fine. Turns you need a flasher for i believe.

Overall they were incredibly cheap comparatively to any parts store, marine or auto. You can buy LED's anywhere now but still expensive

Cool white has a bluish hue
Warm white = yellowish

bought brakes in red, turns in amber, etc...

I hate chopping up/modifying OE parts so I'll probably make a copy of a new mount plate and use the matchbox dist.

I think I figured out what system this is - Crane Optical LED iginition, heres a link to Amazon show all the parts & pieces.

Yes Im missing the control module, maybe it'd be worth buying the kit, about the same price as a Pertronix conversion.

Anyone ever run one or know much about these?

maybe these are better.

I'm recalling the offsite photo issues, store them on Photobucket or somewhere then have to go there & copy the url's into the posts.
I've used other forums where you can upload directly from the photo album on your phone directly into the post, that's not possible on this site?
