Hi all, the nats was a great event and i am glad to have met some of the Melbourne crowd and i hope that we all can keep in touch (did someone say club meetings?)
I probably went unnoticed generally as both my cars are still unfinished and 1800 kms (or was it (1715 for the trivia night ppl) away form me in Brisbane. I guess i will just have to get at least one back and finish it for the next nats. As far as i am aware the next nats will be the QLD zed guys and will be in and around Warwick and Morgan Park raceway. I didnt notice the Zed versus everyone battle that much but i was not entered with a car so it may have passed over my head. Chris i hope that you reconsider the boycott by the next one! Great work on the youtubing and the pics. Mopar - Did your 1000 make it to the track? i didnt see it till the show.

I realise this is crazy but i am about to leave for it now in the vain hope to see someone!
If not at least its a bit of a drive for me in a new city.
i would guess that ill be in the carpark at 130 so if anyone gets this and is near there come and find me.
If the cruise comes back past there then thats where ill be for a bit anyway
honestly who gets up before 10 on sunday :)

If its happening on the move then i would go with a radiator flush. Heaps of imports have blocked radiators and at the very least it would be 50-100 dollars spent in peace-of-mind as the radiators are a little on the small side anyway.

NOOOO
Unless you have stainless exhaust then it will corrode from the inside out!!
Exhaust gasses are fairly corrosive and this is made alot worse when you wrap them due to the sustained high temps that they will see.
i am not even convinced it is a good idea on turbo thick wall manifolds after seeing large flaky bits falling off the inside walls of these types of wrapped manifolds.
I worked in an exhaust shop for two years and that is my opinion anyway.
If you want a better option go get some ACL heat shielding material HR140GTR i think.
I worked there for a year as an Engineer and it is a good product and easily formed into a manifold or body style of shield and will stop the radiant and soak effects but will allow a bit of convection to carry heat away on the move.

Hi all I am new to Melbourne having moved here from Brisbane ( i know i am insane) So anyway i would love to come on the cruise but i will be in a very very dodgy Mazda 121. Will you allow me to hide at the back?
Is there a formal club type thing going in this state? If so when and where does everyone meet?
Let me know or ill see you on the 4th?

720kg with cage and a minimalist approach to interior trim :) i have since gone to town in many areas and hope that it get back on the road under 700 although there isnt a lot to remove in the 1000s but it did have big battery and steel diff nose, heavy mag wheels, rear seat, spare tyre etc
of interest was that the split was 400 kg front and 320 rear, not too bad hope to improve on that too!

Are the factory efi inlets any good? the only ones i have seen are the L series ones and they are usually the smallest port head versions
