PLEASE at least get the head vac and hardness tested and milled the vac test will see if any valves are damaged by ingesting water and will see if they are all sealing the hardness test will tell you if the head has been overheated excessivley (in which case it will be soft and needs replacing) adn the mill will remove any slight bend or warp and give a fresh sealing surface
i have yet to see a genuine gasket failure on a stock car it is usually due to corrosion of water passages, or a soft head.
please get it checked

hmm i dont know if i would as its downstream of the fuel it should have a gasket top and bottom gt some ultra blue or grey and just rub it into the gasket enough to fill in the "pores" if not then just a light smear on both sides of ultra grey or blue make sure that the gasket faces a scraped clean first and even emeried with fine emery paper (400) maybe on a flat surface or a piece of glass
should be ok if it runs rouugh at idle then you probably have an air leak

hadnt seen that one before but it looks good be wary of saying it "has all the features of motec" because motec is infinatley upgradeable and can do anything so its features are limitless. but yes it is a lot cheaper. i wonder how it goes on the ignition output side of things cos this can be an area of worry with nissan coil packs especially if they are running at double the duty (wasted spark). i like tables of values rather then graphs. looks good though i would like to mess with one

the plastic thing between the manifold and the carby?? that slows heat from being transferred to the float bowl and boiling the fuel. if the fuel boils then it will miss, stall and carry on when sitting in traffic or maybe even when driving rather then pinging. try to put it back on if you can

hmm in my opinion go for the autronic if you are racing then there is only two choices really the autronic or the motec as they both have a full logging facility which is really good for watching whats going on after a few laps. the haltech has logging too but it is pretty rough compared the motec would be better if you want to add on things like suspension travels and g force but this is starting to look like a lot of money (like a real lot of money)
i have wired setup and tuned about 6 autronics and stuffed around on microtech and ems. i have looked at the programs for the haltechs and motecs but not tuned either. also i think the uni group guys like the autronic too (when i was there for the nats anyway) my opinion

not sure if anyone already knows this i am a bit of an ET pulsar afficionado and they have a really cool thermo fan switch screws into the radiator directly and has two terminals but does not need a relay power to it then to the fan then earth the fan!! how neat is that, well i find it cool! they are switched at 90 degrees and cost about 30 dollars new.
