the intercooler piping ur talking bout is it the set up u can buy from ebay which has all the different lengths and angles?

No mate.

I know a guy who builds drag & circuit cars.
He'd already done a few CA18 / 1200 conversions & knew off the top of his head what was required.

I fabricated the actual intercooler plumbing myself.

1) For the intercooler piping, I had some alloy donuts & a 3" to 3 1/4" silicone step (intercooler plumbing was 3" & the plenum intake is 3 1/4")delivered from a wholesaler in perth.... $160.00

2) I'm running a SR20 radiator & used Mackay part no's Upper - Mackay CH2502 &Lower - Mackay CH1851.

3) Surge tank - N/A... Purposely used a R31 tank so I wouldn't have to worry about a surge tank.

4) I used a R31 skyline manual tailshaft, spline already suited the CA18 box & R31 diff.
I know of a few people that have used Stanza though.

Dammit

Stuck @ uni finishing off a bl00dy group assignment because a few slackers couldn't tow their end of the line.

Bl00dy group assignments.... Hopefully I'll get to the next Harry's meet.

The best place to start is a R31 manual tailshaft.

The gearbox spline will match your CA18 box & the diff flange will suit the R31 diff.

All you need to do then is measure per rallycar's advice below (make sure you leave 10mm float) & have a gearbox / diff mob fabricate a new tube & weld on to your uni's.
Cost me $270.00

The hard part is finding a manual R31 tailshaft.
I know for a fact that A1 Nissan wreckers in Brissy have one they could probably ship you.... But - They charge like a wounded bull!

I'm told you can also use a stanza, but you'll have to re-drill the diff flange to suit.

Looks like I'll be there tonight......

1st time for ages that a Harry's meet hasn't coincided with touch footy / work / uni / family etc, etc.

Looking forward to it.

And the winner is.........

Those who thought the wastegate was jammed open were the closest to the mark.

Luckily - It was just that the circlip that holds the linkage from the actuator to the wastegate on had come undone & the wastegate was flapping in the wind.
Cheapest turbo repair I've ever made.....: - )

I know what do next time I book it in for work & the guys in the shop get that "I'm going to take your pride & joy & thrash it" look.
Un-hookie the old linkage.

I've fixed it, but the buzzing's still there..... Only happens at 2000rpm!
Any thoughts what this could be?

Running a T28 off a S15 SR20, so that discounts the ceramic wheel theory.

If the bearing's have gone, I suppose it'd jam the wheel.... No boost, but still allow the exhaust gases to escape.

Will pull the inlet off tonight & have a look.
Still praying for a jammed wastegate....

I'll check the flange gasket too, but methinks I'd still have some boost if the gasket had blown out.
