Unfortunately my ca18 shat itself - compression in cylinders was 160, 160, 155, 120. drove worse than the a12!

I hope (for your sake) that it is just a cracked ring, or a head-gasket as lagwagon suggested, but I'd be willing to bet $$$ that you've spun the 3rd & or 4th big end bearing..... This is a common problem for CA18's.
I'm pretty sure the stock CA18DET has cast pistons, but unless you are looking for a 10 second car you should be o.k to stick with the cast ones.

Yes, I'd like to hear more about what sort of results people have got out of water injection.
I've heard people banging on about this for years & the general concensus seems to be that a good intercooler will negate any advantage gained by water injection, but I'm yet to come across anyone who has actually done it.

What the other guys are saying is correct..... It's pretty easy to do yourself.
If you're not keen I know a bloke that can do some 180sx / Silvia brakes onto your 1200 struts.
PM me if you want his details.

I don't know Sunny1046...... I've heard a lot of negative things about the VG30DETT.
What about a RB26DET? Or even better a RB30 block with RB26DETT heads.
Are you just after the V6 thing? Because the power / reliability of the RB series seems to make that the better option.

More utes for sale in the southern states if you can get there & better prices too!

Oh, Touche' Phunk, how droll.
The idea is that everyone has a tall story about what their car can do. eg/ That guy in Lagwagon v's xr6 post who reckons his 1200cc engined coupe beat a WRX.
We're encouraging everyone to have a bit of fun with their favourite tall story - Let's face it you've all got one!

O.K then, I'll start where I left off.....
You see I got into this drag race with a top fueller - real fast one.... 6 sec quarters. All I had to race with was my pushbike, so I thought I'd have to stock up on energy food - powerbars, energy drinks & suchlike.
Next thing...... GREEN LIGHT, so I give this massive heave on the pedal & all the intestinal gas created from eating those high energy foods exploded out of my rear end...... Before I realised what'd happened all that methane'd caught alight & with a massive sound - QUAAA WONK - I was down the other end in a flurry of burnt fart gas & choking sounds from my competitor, who was left eating my umm....Dust!
E.T: - 5.56 sec @ 220 mph.

How's that for starters!!??

Yeah, I'm with you phunk....... That WRX must've had his brakes on.

Lemme tell you about the time I beat a top fuel drag car on my pushbike.........I'd eaten all these powerbars and...........
See how easy it is, we really should have a tall story contest, it'd be way funny.
