Thanks guys......

Benny & Boof's rims seem to be slightly different than what I've got though.... Hmmm!

Mine seem to have a few more spokes & less dish.
More like a TRX rim.... Which means the offset should be better I suppose.

I'll post a photo of them tomorrow to see if I can get someone to Id them.

Scored myself some 15 x 6" R30 skyline rims .

They're a bit ratty, but will tidy up o.k.
I want to keep them silver to stay with the blue / silver colour scheme on my ute, but I'm undecided whether to re-paint in say a silver metal-flake or to polish them back up.
Perhaps a combination of both.....

what do you guys think?

Also - Any advice on tyre choice would be welcome....
I'm thinking 185's on the front & 195's on the rear.
I want a reasonably low profile though to avoid fouling the guards, but also want to fill the wheel arches.
I was thinking between a 45 & 55 profile, but I've heard 45's can be hard to find & expensive.
I've also heard some brands make a 50 profile......

Also looking for something reasonably sticky.
What are you guys with 15's running?

The general consensus seems to be around 250lbs for a track specific car.
That's a bit hard for road use though.

Most guys running road registered cars doing occasional track days seem to be running around the 220 - 225lb range.

I'm not a big fan of V8's, but that was awesome.

That Lowndes sure can drive.

Dump pipes = Understated, functional & stylish.

Cannon's = Rice!

Go the dump pipe... I did.

I had 6 modification codes done for $300.
Engine, Brakes, Diff, Seats, Fuel Tank & Tailshaft... From memory.

$400 is more like the going rate though.

Hahahaha...... Nothing like a bit of optimism.

The wife asked "how long?" when I started my project..... I replied "oh only around 6 weeks"

3 years later I finally finished .

They also say a project car is never finished

Have fun.

I suppose it depends whether you want it to be legal or not.

13BT = Illegal in most states, but truly awesome to behold.

4AGE = Legal, but with heaps of stuffing around to fit into a 1200.

CA18DET = Legal, heaps of info & conversion parts available.
And - HEAPS OF FUN.

Go the CA18 mate

2 panel beaters that I've dealt with......

1 - Sureway Smash Repairs in Sherwood (Bris).
Good job, at a good price.

2 - 4H smash repairs in Darra (Bris).
Absolutely top notch job, but you pay for it.

I've been told 68 degrees C is the std setting.

The part I ordered has 80 degrees C written on it.

Can anyone confirm what the standard CA18DET thermostat setting is?
