No, I have no info at all, I was just hoping that it was a common tweak & there was a standard rod / piston combo available. I have heard of people using L20 cranks & rods, then machining the pistons, but I was hoping for a cheaper option.

It looks like I've done a Big end on my CA18, so i'm toying with the idea (along with balancing etc.) of doing an offset grind on the crank to increase displacement..........

Has anyone here done this - do you know if there is a standard piston / conrod available that will slot straight in to save machining the piston?

Firstly, I have a CA18 (non turbo) you can have for $500 but if you are doing a conversion you may want to buy a complete engine, gearbox & wiring loom.

Secondly there is a bloke by the name of Kevin Rowley who is semi-retired & works out of his shed in Bellbird Park doing conversions........mainly on 1200's but he can do just about anything & offers a quality product at a cheaper price than a performance shop.

PM me if you want his number

Can someone PLEASE tell me where to find the engine numbers on a CA18?

They don't seem to be in all the usual places.

Has anyone attempted to plumb an aircon system into a modified 1200 ute or coupe?......I was hoping to be able to use the stock Silvia compressor & somehow plumb it into the standard 1200 ventilation system?

Anyone put a 4AGE into a Datto ute?

How do they go?

Being a Cast Iron block I thought it might be too heavy

Woah there big fella, I wasn't casting any doubts on what your vehicle is worth!....But at previously mentioned it is only worth what someone will pay for it. I have been in the market for one of these things for a while now (I decided that building one was asking for trouble + a severely depleted bank balance) & have seen a few go with CA18 + motec & paint etc. etc. for around the 12.5 - 13 mark. But if you can recover some of your costs then go for it as it's becoming increasingly difficult to find one in good condition!!

It's way overpriced ($15800) but I was gonna make him an offer, but i'm not familiar with the engine.....Turbo?
I seem to recall something about twin plugs?
