Thanx guys. I am aiming for improved production once I get it sorted. But I want to get it on the track as soon as I can so I might run it stock for a while. I am going to get out to collingrove next time there is a track day to check it out and have a chat to Peter hall or who ever I can about some classes and rulings. I am still a bit in the dark on it all and am just learning now.
Yeh unfortunately all 4 of these rims has a slight buckle and it would be cheaper to find another set than to get them re rolled. Which is a shame because I like them to.
Ok i thought i would start an official thred. As some may know Just on a week ago i picked up a 1200 coupe which i intend to use for hill climbs, motorkhana and sprints. I said i wasnt going to start this project untill my 240z was finished, But seeing i have it sitting at work i thought i would make use of my lunch brakes and start work on it. this wwk i hit it with the deoxodine and blew a thin coat of primer over the bare metal to keep the rust away. I also managed to fit some wheels i have had sitting aside for many years. I may use these i may not. One thing i learned while doing this is that it has disk brakes up front. I Thought they were all drums up front. Next weekend i am travelling to Victoria to pick up a L20b and 5 speed box as well as some 200b struts and brakes all for $200. I will run this engine for a while but may upgrade to a sr20de in the future. I am looking forward to getting stuck right in to this build. It is going to be a lot of fun Check out the pick. I think it needs lowering. I think i will be making a few visits to maddat for some suspension upgrades
well i found mty self a 1200 coupe to use as my race car build I am more than happy with my buy It is all complete and there seams to be double of every thing in the spares. As you can see its all in bare metal so nothing is hidden. Rust wise it is pretty good you could eat off the undercarriage it is that clean. the passenger side sill panel is missing but that is no biggy because you can buy them brand new for $40 I wont start the build for a few months because i ive to finnish my 240z first
