Jump on NZdatsun.com forum and post up a thread on there and something will get organised. Doesnt take much to convince us to drink beer and talk datsuns

Thats awesome D. It looks like such a good match!
Is there going to be much work with the oil and water galleries and studs etc. Its a bit hard to make out from the template overlay.
What year model did the zx14 head come from?
Look forward to seeing how this turns out

Basically I have always wanted a race car, I was going to buy one after I finished this car but this project got so out of hand and ran over schedule by abour 3 years
Then at the end of last year I had some pretty big changes in circumstances and it didnt get touched for over 6 months and worse yet I had to sell parts off of it to raise money for non fun things, followed by lots of work on other peoples cars to raise more money. BUT eventually got through that and I just thought f**k it, i'll just make this into my race car!
so out came the grinder again!

A year! god I feel bad now.
Its quite a different beast now. Your right, the poor thing has seen quite a bit of the grinder. If something doesnt meet my standard, out it comes.
Its changed from a road car to a full on race car now. I have four linked the back and am just doing the roll cage at the moment, will update towards the end of the week

Dont worry guys it was NZPC error. The power is actually 208hp at the engine not the wheels. Still no mean feat. This car completely destroyed the under 1600cc class and im pretty sure always top 3 outright. Its even won a few races outiright if I recall correctly. Beating out some of the 4wd turbo machinery. Probably helps he can drive the pants of the thing!

260c aren't IRS unfortunately but 240k's are
Actually a 240k coupe would be an awesome looking drift car. They are a sweet looking car. But I imagine they are pretty rare even over in oz?
a 910 with IRS would be a pretty budget option. Easier to get panels than the older datsuns, would be a little more work fitting the 6 in there, but I dont see that being an issue for someone as handy on a welder as you are.
They still look pretty cool when about 50mm off they ground :D
