One motor i want to build is for a mate, he has a nice wee coupe and we were going to build an a12 cheater motor for. A12 block (front dizzy so it looks like the original motor :D)a14 crank a12 rods bushed to 20mm and Wet sleeve the block to 81mm using 4age pistons. Gives 1587cc
And no certification required here in nz for a bigger motor cause its still an "a12"
He's pretty keen but won't happen for a while cause he's just brought a rally car with his old man so time and money is occupied at the moment

I looked pretty hard at this too D.
I worked out you could use the 140mm e15 non turbo rods or possibly ga16de rods depending on bew.
there is a 4 cyl daihatsu piston with a 19mm pin and a 23mm pch that could be used with the e16 crank and long 140mm rods in an a15 block Its only available up 77mm bore though. its in the acl piston catalog, i can dig out the part number if anyone is interested. Gives you 1640cc with a 77 bore iirc

I'm in the same boat pigdog, I'm just about to purchase some rear springs for my four link coilovers. Mine run vertical in a sedan
I run 275# front and will probably run 200-225# rear
My car runs a sr20de and will be used on the track so I think the fronts may be a little soft, But as I brought them quite a while ago i'll try them out and see how they go.
Alot of the IPRA ae86s are running 325ish front and 225ish rear. They are a bit heavier car though

What size swaybars front and rear are you running?
Cheers

i'm quite a way off I need to get the shell going before I can even look at building the motor haha. Good to here some one backing up what i've heard about franklin. I was a little on the fence with them as they made a bit of a mare of the sr20ve cams I got.

Exciting stuff! I've been building my 1200 sedan track car for 5 years. I CAN'T wait till its going. I wish I'd done the same now, just did it in steps not went completely overboard like I did haha. I could have been racing years ago!
looking forward to seeing how it goes

Do auckland cams have a good rep with A series cams? I checked out there website and some of the profiles look pretty good.
I'd have thought you'd have gone with csl cams or kiwi cams? Being speedway capital of NZ i'd have thought those guys would know a thing or two about a series :D
i've heard good things about franklins a series profiles too. So much choice haha
