The Gemini isnt worth $4000 now, ask yourself what it is worth and then add $700 to that figure. I dont understand what you were doing paying $4000 for a gemini for in the first place. You could always sell the Gemini , sell the quarters, and get an original rust free 1200 coupe or sedan, so you will feel confidant about what your starting with.

I find I get the opposite reaction, more along the lines of,"hey cool car man" or "Yeah go the Datto" or "I used to have one of them ,they are great" etc. etc.

Is this an ad for an engine builder who will build a 200 hp engine for $2000 or an ad for a used 200 hp engine that he has in the shed and wants to get rid of?

Dodgeman, many years ago I wise old man advised me against putting kerosene in my 1000 as he said it would have an abrasive action, he also said I shouldnt use the commercially available engine flushes as it would make for a rattly donk. This is what made me advise against the use of turps. I have never done any of these things myself , so I cant speak with any authority, but the man who told this to me ( he is probably dead now) was someone who had been around cars for a long time.
