Yeah I saw an advance screening a couple of weeks ago. A very special movie more about Eric's obsession with the car than about the car itself. Some awesome footage and there ARE a couple of 1600s in the background @ targa Tasmania. So there's an excuse to go see it!

If there is a dish, machining the pistons will take some of the dish away, as the dish tapers.

What cylinder head are you using? you could try using a decompression plate or an open-chamber head such as a H72 to lower the compression.

Cut out a cross-section of the original sill panel and take it to a sheet metal shop. They will be able to fold/roll you up a piece that will run the full-length, in whatever thickness you would like.
Are you replacing them yourself?
