optimum temperature....based on your cars weight speed and the way the brakes can exit the heat energy.
too big a brakes with carbon metallic pads on a light car which just goes to the shops is just as bad a situation as drum brakes on a dodge viper race car.
then come the issue of unsprung weight. Big discs and calipers is gonna upset your handling significantly.
I had more than adequate brakes on my 1200 coupe race car with semi metallic pads and stanza solid discs.
My next car had brilliant Willwoods on the front with a booster which was overbraked...i had to take the booster off...its up to you application.
For street application i would go for a converted GTR HR32 setup (fit under a 15 inch rim) for race i would try a set of brembos off an evo9 or something similar.

I would prefer to spend a sh!tload more money on a datsun item, rather than putting anything from another manufacturer in my car.

so you wouldnt put a quaife or a hollinger box in any of your cars?

63a's are only an L series box adapted for an A series. Personally as good as they are (and they are good boxes) i dont think they are worth that sort of money. In racing you put in whatever gearbox is goona suit your car/racing....

GX5 i really really hope you do find one it will give me hope...however I will believe it when i see it. I dont know of ANY club members (except for maybe Stirlingmac) who owns a GX. And I have been a member of this club for well over 5 years.
Anyway your orignal question is that yes the GX is on the compliance plate. Without the compliance plate its not a GX.

again good luck finding a GX coupe....ive NEVER seen one in australia.
I have only seen a GX sedan in Qld go on ebay and it was imported from South Africa. You wont get a GX and IF and thats a REALLY BIG IF you get one you WILL NOT get it before I will.
Even John Bostons ex-Bathurst backup car which is now smashed has no plates and is a special wide body Nismo chassis specially made for racing.
As for the 100 examples imported for Australia I think that was the old Group A rules when they brought the Nissan GTR in. I really dont think they brought ANY GX coupes in the country via the factory.
John Taylor also had a genuine GX coupe that was 20 years ago...I dont know where that has gone.

ANYWAY....youre not going to get one before me Ive been looking for years. Ive been even thinking of importing a South African one...they are still a good price. Ones in Japan are going for close to $30,000 USD

GOOD LUCK....
