Hey guys
Just after anyones experience with street legal semi slicks. Looking for something that will suit fast street driving and a bit of track work.
Currently have 195 50 15 bridgestone RE002s and they are a good Street tire but don't really hold up to the brakes. So looking to step up a notch. Was keen on KU36s but they don't come in the right size

Anyone had any good experiences with other tires that they would care to share?

Need to make up alloy rotor hats to suit my hubs.
I run a CA16 inlet cam, came with a head I bought for $2.50

I always muck around. Hence rebuilding the car 2 years after I first finished building it.

But yes it should be a little nicer one finished. Will also be good to get some free time back

So its been a while since I've given an update

Cars been continuing its daily duties quite nicely.
About a month ago i decided to pull the car off the road to fix up some oil leaks and do the fuel lines.

So the car went out to dads and the engine came out.

Once the engine was out i made a start on the fuel lines, i bought 3/8th alloy line and weld on fittings (turned out to be a bad idea) to go with the -6 AN fittings and hose.
Bent all the lines up, found out that my rear cross member was in the way of one of the fuel lines, so it got a hole in it.
Finished off the fuel lines and had them all ready to weld, then they didn't weld so nicely. Long story short, pressure tested them and they leaked and decided they weren't fixable. So they got put aside.

About the same time i had the engine apart, decided to replace the metal head gasket as it has always slightly leaked oil on the turbo side. Pulled the head off and found some slight rust marks in the bore of #4 cylinder. So off to the engine builders again to get it honed. While the block was there i was talking to them about how the oil had really stained and baked itself onto the inside of the engine despite oil changes every 3 months (1500-2000ks) their thought was that the didn't bed in fully when it was first run in and as a result had been leaking carbon into the oil.
So new rings were bought from America

Back to the oil leaks, was thinking that the front and rear mains were leaking a bit of oil, so plan was to speedy sleeve them to give a good surface for the seal. Turns out it was the gearbox front seal that had gone due to some rust marks on the input shaft from the box being in the weather at some point in its life. So it got a speedy sleeve too.
Unfortunately oil got all over the clutch so i figured i might as well replace that while it was out, and while doing that i thought i might go an even lighter flywheel too.
So i bought an NPC HD sprung 5 puk clutch and Xtreme 5.9kg chromoly flywheel.

So after lots of headaches and lots of money, i now have the engine back together (almost) with adjustable timing gears, new lifters, new rings, whole engine cleaned up, new metal headgasket, Temp sender in the sump, electronic fuel pressure sender in the rail
I have redone the fuel lines in 3/8th bundy with weld on -6 fittings, all the flexy lines in -6 earls stuff

Have made up the stainless braided -4 water lines to the wastegate

So there are a few things left to do till its back together

Re-position the seat mounts, moved 50mm further back to give a better seating position. Will be coupled with a 3 inch dished steering wheel to keep my arms in the same position
Re-position where the heater lines go through the firewall to make all the heater lines a bit neater
Send the exhaust manifold, turbine housing and dump pipe off for ceramic coating
Re-position all the pedals to give more room between each of them

Probably more, but that's all i can think of for now. Has been a month of 4-5 hours in the shed each night, and i fear that it might be another month of the same before i can drive it again. Soon after it will be back on the dyno so it can get the tune finished.

New Wilwood discs to replace the r33 fronts at some point, they weigh 3kg compared to the 8kg that the r33 discs weigh so should actually offer some gains in all kinds of performance

So anyone that has me on Facebook probably knows where i'm at with the car.Decided that i'll get all the little #OOPS# done to the car that I've wanted to do for a while. So its probably going to be in the shed for a bit longer Even putting in 4-5 hours every night i'm doubting the car will be back together and run-in in time, let alone tuned and actually performing well. So i'll say i'm out, very keen for another meet of some sort once its tuned though
