what do you mean the turbo screams it head off?? Turbos do generate ALOT of noise and you especially hear them in a 1200 due to the lack of sound deadening in the engine bay....
When you buy the turbo check for bearing wear, thrust and axial (thrust meaning pushing in our out and axial is sideway movement, also check for any fin damage.

I'm up for the cruise, hey geoff you are aware that it finishes at 10pm?? Thats a late BBQ!! Maybe we could have one at the jambo, everyone chips in a few bucks for food and we cook up a whole lotta snags and steaks, beats the hell out of paying $5 for a crappy burger there...

I have one for sale with 5speed with yoke for tailshaft.

Only missing the turbo off it but most to all T25's these days are rooted..

i take it you don't let it warm up enough before you nail it??? This causes excessive wear on the seals and in this case it's evident by teh white smoke......

I don't get to go on the net much anymore, but in the last weeks I've commited to selling my CA18DET powered coupe (won't be selling it offically for another few months).
As I've bought a 12 ute with a 12A rotar, ANGE I'm joining the club!!!! When I sell the spare CA18DET and 5 speed silvia box I have, I'll be getting the 12A bridgeported.

It's sad to say I'm selling the coupe but I'm moving on.
