In 2006, I started an engine swap project. I was in the process of putting a Datsun 1200 engine and a 5-speed from a 210 into a '59 Bugeye Sprite. In 2007 life bitch-slapped me, hard, and the project was stalled. Hell, I could no longer get in and out of the car. Last year a friend of mine re-started the project for me. We fabricated new motor mounts and a new front cross-member, used an install kit for the tranny, got the engine and tranny in, re-did the front suspension, and finally turned it into a roller. The engine was apparently a rebuilt JDM short block, bored 40 over. I found the ancillaries on eBay, and got a head from ddgonzal years ago (thank you number one.) I also got TONS of helpful information from this forum (thank you number two.) Anyway, the car is now on its way to a new home for final assembly and a lot of TLC.

Clarification: I need something that will work in a 60A 5-speed. I've just been told a 56 series or 63 series will work. I'm not concerned about the curve of the lever since that will end up being modified.
Thanks, Pete

I need to replace a shift lever for a 60A (or 63A) 5 Speed that got lost in storage. I've got the tranny rebuilt but can't find the darn lever. (And who knows ... someone might have one stashed in their garage, over by the hen's teeth.)
Thanks,
Pete

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to put an auto tranny behind the A12. Will any 210 auto tranny do? I'm assuming the output yokes are different. but are there any other details I should be aware of? (Tunnel width shouldn't be an issue.)
Thanks again, Pete

I'm finally re-starting a project I started a few years ago and need to ask a couple of questions: I have what I think to be a JDM A12 shortblock (front-mounted dizzy, etc.) The ID number on the block is A12 033455.
Am I correct in assuming that I should use ARP's 202-4202 head studs? (pre-74 A12????)
Next, which head torque specs should I use? "Lighter?" Medium? "Heavier?"
Last, any recommendations about the choice of headgaskets?
Thanks Very Much, Pete

Okie doke and thanks again.
Turns out a Nissan dealership in Texas has them listed in their online parts inventory so I am assuming that I can just head on over to the local Nissan store and place an order. I don't know why the guy doing the trannies got them from a wholesaler other than maybe he was saving a few bucks.
I owe ya one!

Thank you, thank you.
I got the impression from the Tech Page that H97xx part numbers were specific to the 60L.
Thanks again, Pete

Hello,
Anyone know what the part number would be for baulk rings for a 1981 FS5W 60A non-dogleg 5-speed? (Or if there's any chance that they're still available from the dealer. Or if there is a good after-marking source?)
I checked the most excellent article in the Tech Section but got the impression that the parts numbers listed were specific for the 60L (?)
We're asking because the ones we've been getting in the rebuild kits from the local supplier (Portland OR USA) are apparently "cut" at a slightly wrong angle, making the synchromesh feature a little iffy once the transmission is back in the car. We've been doing some recycling of used rings but even the best ones tend to be on the marginal side, tolerance-wise.
Thanks very much, Pete
