Hey all...

I got an A15 in my 120y.

As far as I know it is stock, it has even and prety good compression, it has a stock inlet manifold with a 32/36 webber, 4-2-1 extractors and a 2 inch exhaust with a straight through resonator and a side exit exhaust. (it is a club car). It also has no engine fan.

Going by the tach in the car she dont like to rev pased 4500 and takes forever to hit 5,000. it dosent stop revving or misfire.....it just slowly gathers revs.

The carb is straight off a 2.0 litre escort and had not been tuned yet, the car does not puff any black smoke under power so I am assuming it aint running to rich.

The timing is still standard but I am thinking of sticking the new set of points I have into it and advancing the timing a little.

Any ideas on how to get it a bit more revvier?

I was shocked when I went to pickapart a few weeks ago....there was only 1 120y there!!!! I thought there would be heaps of these.....there was 2 escorts, 4 Geminis no early Galants but heaps of VN's and EA fords tho!!!!!!

Are our older cars becoming that rare????

Is that the yellow 120y hatch with some sticker on the windscreen that says "good girls wear no undies?"

Hi there.

I have a COMPLETE a12 out of a 120Y. It is complete with fan, Radiator, aircleaner, good working clutch, 4 speed gearbox etc.

The engine did not give any dramas. It did not use oil or blow smoke, it was serviced regularly. It hardly got driven over the last 3 years but still has it's oil changed every couple of months or so.

All this engine needs to run is a dissy cap and some leads.

It is in great condition and was only removed 2 weeks ago due to an a15 upgrade.

Will not dissappoint. Comes as seen in the picture will all accessories and a radiator that is not in the photo.

After $150 for the whole lot in S.E Melbourne.Open in new window

I sorted it out.

This manifold that came with the engine actually mounted the carbie below the port line of the head! Which means that it will only fit with the original A15 exhaust manifold, even the a12 exhaust manifold dont fit!!

Any how.....at pickapart today i found an A15 intake manifold in the back of a Vanette that was a non EGR model and it mounted the carbie the same height as the a12 carbie. So that fits with the extractors.YAY!

I used the factory engine mounts that came with the a15 and they sat on the mount rubbers from the 120y, if that makes any sence. But the intake manifold dont fit with my extractors!!! I knew it was too good to be true.

I just got the a15 into the 120y. I had the extractors on and the a15 intake manifold dont fit! I knew something would go wrong! The intake manifold holds the carby fairly low and the runners hit the exhaust.

Is there a different intake manifold that would fit the a15 besides the standard one? My a15 has water passages in the intake manifold and was out of an e20 or c20 van or something. I know the a12 one is totally different. HELP!
