sounds like u have poor or broken earth wire or connection somewhere at the rear lights

the way i always remember is that the reason its thin is for oil to go past it so it goes to the side the oil pump is on.

Well i work for the nrma 24hr rd service and the blue packing tape with a bit of sandpaper stapled to it is the way to go. there are other ways to do but this is the most simple.

i have put a few 1200 coupe through nsw blueslips with a14 fitted and they dont require an engineers certificate, rta put it straight into there system and a few of the insurance companys have 1.4L as a model option. so u shouldnt have any problems. if u do just go get another blueslip form another place
