Hi guys,
The article I've done on my trip to Norway is in the process of being changed to a new photo album format. The albums are uploaded but not linked yet so if you go to...http://
members.sniffout.com/ratdat/KNUT2000/norwayKNUT.htm you can see a load of pics of Knut's cars and go to ... http://members.sniffout.com/ratdat/NN2000/norwayNN.htm you can see some of
the Datsuns belonging to Nissan Norway. They have a couple of 1200s. The rest is still accessable via the main site at www.ratdat.com There will be more 1200 stuff going on my site
soon. Let me know if you have any problems viewing the site as I'm still learning how to make the website! HTML is not a strongpoint of mine.
Cheers,
Eddie

I have swapped fenders betwwen sedan and coupe 1200s with mo problem. The only oddity I have found was when I fitted new chassis legs and inner fenders to my ute. I had to use coupe
panels (utes weren't ever sold here) and the strut tower is slightly different, the top of the tower is nearer the bulkhead and the rear edge of the panel, i.e. as if to give more castor.
Other than that it all fits perfectly. I used a coupe front panel and hood too and it all fits okay.
However... I had a look on the microfiche and found that there are two different part numbers...

63100-H1003 is for a wagon and sedan and coupe
63100-H1900 is for a euro spec wagon and euro optional sedan and coupe(no idea what that means)

I assume that the difference for Europe cars are maybe the turn signal holes, but according to the parts fiche the fenders are interchangeable. Anybody got info for the ute?

Difficult as different people do use different names but as a guide...

Caster rod and tie rod are the same. They connect the outer end of the lower front arm to a forward point on the chassis.

Radius arm and lower arm are the same. That pivots on the front chassis leg and has the balljoint on the outer end connected to the bottom of the strut.

Track rod, track control arm, and connecting rod are also the same thing. That connects the steering to the steering arm on the bottom of the front
strut leg.

A sway bar is technically an anti-sway bar also known as an anti roll bar.

All old Haynes workshop manuals have an English/American Glossary in the front that lists a few of these names (although it doesn't state what part they
are)

If you want the chrome to show through like a lot of old Datsun badges do then use Tamiya model paints. They do tinted clear in red (called clear red X-27) and possibly blue
(but never bought any blue so I'm not sure)I restored some SSS badges with it and it looks like original. Seems to last well too.

Two round dials? spec 1200 coupes have three round dials... speedo, tacho and the other for combined fuel and temp. They have a centre console with a big clock in it too. All
the sedans have a strip speedo. I definately think my 2 door sedan outhandles my coupe (both are stock) and it rides better too.

It's always worth checking up on stuff like this even if it's a model not sold in your country. I found a 1200 ute in England and they were never officially sold in Europe. I almost didn't
check because I thought the seller had just got his facts wrong. He said he had a small Datsun pickup that was about 1200cc and was registered in 1981...uh? The only trucks we got here were
620 and 720 and you could hardly describe those as small. (well...maybe in the US you could) My curiosity got the better of me, went to see it and was totally amazed to find a 1200 ute! Just a
shame it's very rusty

Cheers Ernie. I haven't got them here yet. I was very keen to get these as they are impossible to get here. I particularly wanted these as they had the factory filter. I want them for my
coupe, which I want to look as original as possible. I'd kina like to make it as near to Japanese GX5 spec as possible...still searching for a 5 speed though. I'll upload a couple pics
of my coupe soon. Do you reckon a single DCOE or IDA weber would be much good on an A14?

Yeah, the 120Y is a B210 in US and Sunny in Japan. Chassis code is B210.
The RWD Stanza is an HL510 or 2nd gen 510 in the US but called Violet in Japan and 140J or 160J in Europe. The chassis code for all is A10.
Your FWD Stanza is a B11 by chassis code which was sold here and Japan as a Sunny...don't know if Aussie got these. (no loss if you didn't
Confusing eh?
