I'm in agreement on the idea of buying a bigger motor rather than trying to extract big power from an A-series, however there is no way I would go that route on my coupe. I think mine,
being low milage and pretty rare here will always be A series although it will get minor tuning. Giving it big turbo power would ruin it. Now my sedan... that's another story. High mileage,
rust etc It's never gonna be beautiful so it might as well be fast and there's no way I'm messing with an A series for it! Here tuning stuff for A series is non existant so a CA is
definately the way to go.

I have sucessfully repaired these vents with dichloromethene (sp?) which is the liquid solvent used for sticking plastic model kits together. It seems to bond them very well if
you take your time, even when they are cracked around the screw holes.

I don't really know much about the regs down under but all three motors are capable of plenty of power and reliability. I wouldn't reckon on an FJ20 in N/A form and I think it would be
difficult to fit in a turbo version. I have just got an FJ20DET and it's huge compared with a CA18. Really it's just down to CA or SR. SR is probably gonna be lighter but I'd reckon a CA
would be easier to fit. Which ever route you go there are people here who have been there before so will be able to offer their wisdom. Given the choice I'd go with an SR20DET if you can
get one for sensible money. Have you checked out the SR 1200s on Autospeed? http://www.autospeed.com/members/A_0420/article.html

Good luck,

Okay, it's not 100% 1200 but I recently went on a trip to a Datsun show in Norway. I also visited Nissan Norway ond a couple of other places and got some great photos. I haven't
finished putting them all up yet but three albums are available on my site at www.ratdat.com
There were several 1200s in Norway some of which can be seen in the available albums. The pics from Nissan Norway aren't done yet but there were a couple more there including the
nicest stock 2door I have ever seen. I'll get those pics done soon.
Meanwhile check out the Norway albums...parts 1,2 and 5.

Enjoy!

Datsun Cedrics and later Z31 and Z32 models are 5-stud. It certainly does look like that Bathurst car has 5 studs. They could be 14 inch Cedric
rims but what hubs?

Here in the UK all 1200 coupes had them as standard..and there are probably more tachs left than cars to put them in. I have a spare if
you want it.

Tough question...it depends on where in the world you are and model, condition etc. 1200s are pretty rare here but aren't worth much. An imaculate coupe is worth

Wow, you lucky dude...I'd love a 1000 coupe but they were never sold here. I have a 1000 wagon with an A12 in it at the
moment. Where are you...Oz?

Yeah, welding is the only permanent cure for this problem, but be sure to cut out the rust first! Do you get "Waxoyl" there? If so after welding pump a load of it(get it hot so
it thins first) down the scuttle vents and it will never rust again. I have yet to find a decent rust treatment (aside from hydrocloric acid!) so there's no point in trying that
really.

Good luck!

Those tiny SUs are probably the same as MG Midget ones which are 1 1/4 inch (just under 32mm). They are a bit small even on a 1275 MG motor so I would have though the 38s would
be a better choice. That is the size of SSS carbs here in the UK.
