Hi Topgear,

I need a complete set of locks for a 1000 - doors, ignition and boot.

I'd consider most body panels if they are straight...guards, bonnet, doors, etc. Let me know whats good. Maybe some pics would be helpful.

Although already mentioned before by someone else, I'll say again just in case - Some straight bumpers and grill would be really good also.

Hi Craig,
Just had a look at your times. They are quite good. I'm really vague on the rules of the impoved production class. I was just wondering how my car would fit into the category.

What tyres your running ?
what gear box ?
diff ?
Glass or perspex ?
Suspension mod limitations ?

That raises an interesting question. Can you get 36mm chokes for 40mm webbers/dellorto?? I've never heard of them. The biggest I've heard of is 32mm chokes for 40mm carbs and 36mm chokes for 45mm carbs.

Hey everybody!

I've found a Nissan Diesel 720 4WD dual cab ute that is being wrecked. It has both diff's in it.

Does anyone know how to tell if they are LSD diffs and can the LSD centre be adapted to a H165 or similar live axle diff.

Ok. I'd like to start simple (and cheap) and get fancy (and expensive) when I know the basics are working. I'd really like the mapped ignition aswell as fuel injection.

We have the Microtech LT-8, injectors, fuel rail, fuel reg, and fuel pump. I'm going to manufacture a manifold and will use a pair of bare-bones solex carbies as throttles for proof-of-concept. Hopefully will look at a better throttle body setup later when the package is working.

I would like to run both TPS and a MAP sensors and thought it would be best to stick to a complete sensor package off one car - ie get all the sensors of a camira etc. Is this a valid theory ?? If so what car would be best to rob parts from?

The Microtech website's circuit diagrams refer to installing it in a car already equiped with efi and ignition packs etc. Do I need an ignition pack as well?

Microtech sells the laptop cable and dongle for $120ish or the hand-held 4-line interface module for $200ish. Has anyone used these and what is best ???

You haven't mentioned what the engine will be used for! I would hope it is a race engine (not for street use) with a cam that big. Thats a 320 degree duration cam and will only provide a benefit over smaller cams when the engine is reving 5000ish rpm upwards. If you shifting gears at 6000rpm for instance, you would be much quicker with a smaller cam.

You must set up your compression ratio. You mentioned you have shaved your head to the max. Have you cc'd the chambers ??

Twin dellortos with 32mm chokes should be good for only 6000ish rpm max. Thats perfect for a hot street motor and will give resonable low end performance.

You can bore most blocks safely to 78mm (expect if the block has heavy corrosion) and there are plenty pistons to suit.

HP??? Need more info....

I have just got my hands on a Microtech LT-8 ver1.0 but don't know much about efi setups. I've only got the computer itself. What else do I need to get it going and is there a good source of info for these things.

I've been on the Microtech website and they have some wiring diagrams for fitting v2.0 LT-8S to toyotas, nissans, honda's etc but I want to fit it to my 1000 coupe with an A14/15. I'd appreciate any advice!!!

Its a difficult one to answer. The setup of your engine, cam choice, fuel/air mix quality, mixture, squish clearance and other things will affect this figure quite considerably.

It think 30 degrees max is a good place to start. 40 degrees is ok for race prepe'd 10,000 rpm A13's with forged pistons, but probably a death setting for a more common type of modified engine.
