Hi Sunny
The Datsun Sales Centre sticker is down the bottom of the hatch window on my '74' 120y coupe.
It is in the Datsun colours of Red, White & Blue.
GO THE DATTO!

You don't need any of the anti-pollution gear on the motor anymore, as it hinderences power, anyway A series motors and pollution aren't used in the same sentence
Just block up the screw holes with the original bolts that hold on the main pollution part onto the inlet manifold and plug up some holes, diconnect a couple of wires and away you go.
No one would ever no the difference.

hi Abyss
I have this switch on my 1977 120y A12 motor. It has to do with the emission control stuff.
I took a lot of it off, but I left these wires connected to the switch.
I just dissconnected the wires up further near the carby.
The butterfly in the exhaust manifold only allows hot air to flow under the carby when the motor is cold.
It won't effect anything, by having extractors on it, as I have extractors on my other 120y and it still performs very well.

g'day mate
You are very much welcome
It's got an A series motor so your in.
Welcome to the best site on the net for Datto's.
Is it an SGL VANETTE, as I am sure these were the only Vanette's that came standard with the A15 motor.
All others were pretty much A12's for memory.
Don't quote me on that though.

hi all
I have one of these petronix iginitors in my worked A12 motor and everything is working fine.
I also had the same thought of the two wires getting tangled up with the rotor, when I first installed it but they seem to push down into a gap next to the distributor body and hold quite well.
I am running a standard coil with this ignitor and everything is great.

Hi sunny
There is a series one stanza with the Datsun Rallybility sticker on it's rear window here in launie.
Haven't seen any others though.
I have the original Datsun Sales Centre sticker on my 1974 120y coupe.

hi how are you.
The 120y coupe windscreen is different to the sedan as the coupe's windscreen is not as high as a sedans.
Don't know about the wagon though.

just thought I'd limit your search down a bit.

Hi if you have any A series motor from the A10 through to the A15, Then any of the four speed gearboxes from these motors will bolt up to each other, with no alteration to your trans tunnel.
So what I am saying for example. A 120y, or a 1200 four speed will bolt up to any A series motor.
Hope this is what you wanted to know.
Bye.

Hi Dave.
Have you had the distributor out???
If so it may be out a couple of teeth.
To test this theory you must line up the two timing marks on the front of the motor on TDC (top dead centre).
When these marks are lined up, with the dizzy cap off.
The rotor button should be pointing to either plug one or,four and pointsshould be wide open at this point.
If it's not then remove the dizzy and rotate it around until it is pointing at either plug one or four.
If you wish to check which cylinder it's ready to fire on, remove the tappet cover, and the cylinder which is about to fire will have tappet clearance on both inlet and exhaust valves.
Once you have found this out, then your rotor will then have to be pointing to that spark plug, making sure that the points are in the wide open position.
Remembering it's only one or four that the motor will fire on. when these two timing marks are in line.
hope this has helped you out.
bye for now.
