Not sure but the monroe gas struts that are in mine run right down to the bottom, so the spring coils would hit each other before the shock bottoms out.

i think it ignites secondary spark JUST after the primary spark - the dizzy cap seems to be set up 1-1-3-3-4-4-2-2

not in the way most would think being 1-3-4-2-1-3-4-2.

Hi pro-240c..... um..... I dont reckon the secondary spark is coming in "JUST" after the primary- its coming in 45 degrees later EDIT: $hit.... not 45 dammit,.... 90 degrees of crankshaft travel.

And whats with the 13421342???? that would have it firing again on the exhaust stroke

I'm intrigued.......
So how do you set up the timing? if you set the primary spark to 10 deg BTDC, then the secondary will come in at 35 deg ATDC..... Is it going to be any use that late

EDIT: wake up..... 45 deg @ dizzy is 90deg of crankshaft so 10 deg BTDC for the primary and 80deg ATDC for the secondary

I would have thought you would want the sparks firing either at the same time (twin plug setup) or in rapid sucession, so one at 10 deg BTDC and one at 5 deg BTDC.

good luck anyway, It will be interesting to see some numbers out of it.

Dazza- If they'll fit over me new brakes that will work well. Could even swap em for a bonnet if you want

Hillaries to freo sounds good to me..... only problem is if there is any swell up I will probably run into the back of someone.

me Uni: Udub.

As for the date, I cant be sure till I have done the brakes and have it back on the road. You know how these things go, should take a day, so realistcally a couple of weeks. I am having a #### of a time trying to find some decent mags in the right offset. If I can borrow some 13" rims off someone then I can go ahead with the brakes before I have found mags...... But that is a big ask.

There is a really nice light metallic green ute about the place in perth- I have seen him down near cott, It'd be good to get a few really tidy utes involved (mine isn't yet) there is also a white one with armourlites that kicks around uni..... I spose I could whack a note on his windscreen?

Might be...... depends if I get my suspension & mags sorted this weekend. There is a good chance I will be halfway through the brake upgrade. It is still all in one piece at the moment. I spose I could keep it that way for the run but it looks crap with the stock rims and the brakes dont work real well.

That's stud pattern you're after, offset is where the hub face is relative to the centre of the wheel.

All 1200's are 114.3 PCD.

plenty of good info in the tech section
