Gearbox is starting to let go in my ute. If anyone has a decent one they are looking to move on let me know. Also need clutch and pressure plate.

Gearbox must be in Sydney, clutch and pressure plate open. Prefer if someone has the whole lot.

PM me.

Keep plugging away, it is hard but at least it will be done to your liking. Panelbeaters tend to take their time with this kind of work as it doesn't make them much profit.

As for the motor I'd love to hear of your plans. If it was mine I'd be hunting down a A12GX. CA or SR would butcher such a rare car, keep it as close to original as possible.

You know what gets me, wankers relighting these fires. Its not just houses being destroyed, people are dying!!

Hope all our Vic brothers and their loved ones are fine, my heart goes out to those who have suffered loss.

The best thing about the site is its simplicity. Don't change a thing!!

Not a 'Datsuns' fan, but cool name. I grew up on ol' school hip-hop. Aussie hip-hop is so good these days I've given up on the yanks.

As I write this though I'm listening to Eric Clapton's 'Layla' (the acoustic version). Pub sing-a-longs and '80s rule!!

Don't know about over there, but Wetherill Park Panels over here in Sydney occasionally have them (don't have their number sorry).

Sills are harder to get than other panels. You'll see them from time to time on eBay as well. If you want them quick get them pressed.

Whoa, what a read!!! I seriously nodded off 4-5 times during it.

Some good points to consider, some terrible ones. There is no one 'right' solution to the perceived problem. I say perceived problem because if you compare the road death totals of today with the '70s back there is no comparison, fatalities have dropped considerably and for a number of reasons.

Where this novel hits the nail on the head is licencing. That Top Gear Ep where James goes to Finland to learn to drive is where its at. Fins learn to drive almost as soon as they can walk. These youngsters are taught in controlled environments on racetracks in all manor of situations. It serves 2 purposes, 1, they spend years honing car control techniques well before they hit the road, and 2, they get all those crazy things that we all want to try (powerslides, burnouts, racing, speeding) out of their system early and safely.

We can learn alot from their system. They drive in crap conditions most of the year yet have a negligible road toll. Go Finland!!

Oh, I thought you were being sarcastic (hence the ?!?!).

Def the head gasket.

EDIT: Had the exact same symptom with my old ute. Gasket was blown between 2nd and 3rd cylinder.
