I think I have a few of those impco 200 jobbies here, that sounds like the go. 1179 x1.7 is a tad over 2 litres, when the A10 sh!ts eventually I intend to use the A12 block de-stroked to come in under 2 litres, obviously the A12 is a better bottom end, but I'd like to dabble with the A10 first. Cheers. Adam.

Its really only friendly racing that im after, they are CAMS events but Im not chasing records,I just want to beat my mates! the guy with the gemini has built his rig on a budget and does pretty well, the guy with the datto 1600 has spent mega bucks on an injected L19, willwoods, etc, etc.
Im getting the blank rims drilled next week so I'll have a better idea of what sized flairs I will need.. Also toying with the idea of straight lpg as I have plenty of lpg systems at work! Anyone got any thoughts on this??
Cheers. Adam.

Well i dug the car out from my mates driveway today and got it down to the workshop... first things first... what do the wheels look like on it. NOT BAD, they arn't drilled for datsun stud pattern yet so they stick out a bit but the pics show the general story. It would apear that some one wanted the carby more than we do, just aswell we wont be needing that!
The build begins

Hi peoples, after a few years out of the datto scene, (business commitments, wedding, moving house, two babies) geez its been busy. Any how because of a couple of minor health reasons, CAMS wont let me race for most of the season so I have decided to build a new hill climber in my “off season” to beat my two mates at collingrove in the under two litre class... I reckon I can do better than them! (it will be a friendly battle). They have a 1600 and a Gemini. This brings me to my new project. Datsun 1000 two door sedan... I have been looking for one for a while and collecting a few bits for when I do find one. Well after a short search I found one right under my nose, an old member of this site DOGBOY69 bought said car about 6 years ago and parked it while he went to Darwin for work and now hes back has no intension of doing any thing with it. Below is a little list of what I have planned:
Paint, the thing is pretty good with only a minor bingle in the rear, so we’ll give it a 20’ paint job (looks good from 20’)
Motor: A10, new rings, bearings, match ported A14 head, Injection (custom) small turbo with intercooler. Electronic ign.
G/box: conversion from 3 speed on column to 4 spped floor
Diff; 4:11 shortened skyline disc , LSD Front brakes: Custom billet alloy hubs with vented discs
Wheels: 13x8 performance spitfires... maybe little flairs.
In this thread I will endeavour to keep everyone up to date with info and pics of my progress
