definitely no rear parcel shelves.had a stand up argument with a scrutineer at a race event about this point once, almost had to produce documentation from nissan, but convinced him.so micheal,no,but that doesn't mean you can't make something.oh,by the way,the next event i saw this scrutineer, his bee-in-bonnet this time was that if the rear seat was down,it was a sports sedan,if upright it was club car (now improved production).oh the joys of ignorant scrutineers.

2 out of the three you named run alcohol burning cars, while the other has retired, but how about jim read, andrew cowin & steve reed, all who run rails using nitro.the difference between 98 % nitro & plain methanol is vast,& is easily detected by engine note & exhaust smell.love the smell of methanol, but nitro fumes are beyond belief. a friend of mine used to run top bike in the 70's,& it actually went faster on 3 cylinders,as he suddenly got traction, not 1/4 mile burnouts maskerading as runs.

for more volume to suit twin sprays, try a bluebird wagon washer bottle,or for that matter any wagon or hatch with a rear windscreen washer,& hook one motor to one spray,& the other to the second.as for the best spray pattern, the spray being on the wiper arm is the best,& is an old rally trick.just run the plastic hose up the wiper arm, with a nozzle atttached half way up.the water then reaches the whole swept area, not just one or two spots.as for intermitent wipers, try n12 pulsars, they probably can be adapted to the 1200 wiring.come to think of it,i've always thought a sunny (b310) column would be good in the 1200,that would bring both wiper/washer & headlights up onto the steering column, within easy reach.you'd probably have to use a 120y or sunny steering box, however,as they have that rubber doughnut looking thing in them. i've used a n12 pulsar intermittent wiper system in my sunny panel van for years, with the bluebird washer bottle,& some n12's came with variable intermittent wipers for that extra little bit of complication.

good stuff, the real fun starts soon.my tip for the day would have been to undo the top radiator hose & see if that would let you tilt the motor back further, plus a second to that trolley jack idea, but make it a big 2 tonne bastard, not a cheap Stupid Cheap/K-mart toy.plus, you can hire trolley jacks from kennards for bugger all, about $20 a day, which is why my 2 tonner has never been repaired.

the earlier style 5 speeds with the 1st below reverse were available in the early sunny wagons in australia, but a lot were imported by companies like ekw in the eighties.these were usually in japanese model 120y's & sunnys.that's if what you've got is an overdrive 'box.there is also an a12 5 speed, which is a 1-1 5th,& will bolt onto a15's,but is much weaker,&won't last long.you can tell them apart easily by the shape of the clutch fork,if it's straight,it's an a12,if it's got a right angle bend in it,it's an a14.if you don't have a clutch fork with it,try a 1200 fork,& see if it'll bring the throwout bearing far enough forward to touch the pressure plate.the a14 box is also physically bigger than the a12 box.

sounds like you gone through the case hardening on the pinion gears ric,so a new diff is the only fix.maybe the ring & pinion gears from the broken diff could be fitted to your existing centre.i know it's easier to drop the complete rear end out,but there is only 6 bolts to undo,4 trailing arms & 2 shock bolts.

no i don't think the original looked that way michael, but go for it anyway.unfortuneately, the gx label became devalued in the late 70's/early 80's as just another model name, between the gl model & the lx model, say in 200b's & bluebirds.no sporting references at all.sorta like gti has been devalued by it's overuse.a friend of mine actually got a pair of nissan stickers,as user on the tailgates of 1200 utes,& put them one either side of his 1200 sedan,on the rear doors.looked very dicky, but the car went quickly.as an aside, the car also had a gx bonnet,so it just goes to show, what i'm not sure of,though.

i'd like to start (my car,no,no,don't tell them that...)everyone for the ideas,i'll call sss to get some idea, then sell it to carlos for twice that much.the car this manifold appeared on was probably a sports variant b310 (sunny) as i got the first manifold from a wrecked sunny rallycar,& the other from sss when stewart wilkins ran it.the reason they seem rare is both my manifolds broke across the bottom of no's 1 & 2 inlet runner.plus it suffers from reversion with a big cam,so i'm going to get a hilborne or megee (majoo) mechanical injection system,& weld bosses for electronic injectors onto it.that should to do the trick.

any ideas what a factory fuel injection manifold is worth.i've got one,& am going to sell it,as it's not really big enough for the a15 race engine.it's complete, has 2 sets of injectors, one reco'ed & not used,an airbox from a camira, but no air flow sensor,as i ran an aftermarket computer.also, the throttle body has been ported,& i also have a standard throttle body somewhere.so,any suggestions what it's worth.
